I must be wrong. I was thinking every play in the last 2 minutes of an NFL game was reviewable?

Penalties are not reviewable at any point in the game.

I think you are correct but it has to be called on the field first correct? I know it’s reviewed in college. I assumed question was about NFL given recent events.

It may only be college they review helmet to helmet...the nfl probably just does it after the game to collect fines

I know the replay booth can call for a review in college. Not sure about the NFL. Apparently not, or they surely would have.

The NFL does not review it. Josh Hill was knocked out the game with a helmet hit without a penalty.

They all about player safety.

Yeah if they didn’t review the Smith hit on Kamara in the Dallas game then it’s not reviewable. Launch plus helmet to helmet.

I'm a Dallas fan through and through (I know) and even I have to admit that the Jaylon Smith hit on Kamara was about the most textbook targeting/launching I've ever seen. The refs can show that clip at the academy

Obviously Coaches can't throw a challenge flag on a non called targeting!

There is no targeting in the NFL. There is only unnecessary roughness, which helmet to helmet contact on a defenseless player falls under. And it is not reviewable at any point in an NFL game.

Does anyone know the rationale behind this? The spot of a ball is reviewable (which is a true the discretion of the ref) bot not PI or non PI (which also is discretion of the ref)
