Regardless, the whole point of this was that BSU and TCU was a hell of a draw, which I have summarily shown. Change your tampon.

lolz at the tampon comment since you're the one that is flustered from this topic

Congrats on TCU and Boise drawing more fans to the Poinsettia Bowl. I honestly couldn't tell you who played in the 2007 version.

So TCU can't sell season tickets?

About 3/4ths of the stadium. It was 90% the last season in which we had a good team other than Utah or BYU come to town (TTech in 2006). Not bad for a school that has fewer living alumni than Tiger stadium holds. We also have the second highest average attendance to student population/living alumni ratio of any school in the country, only behind Notre Dame. Someone crunched the numbers, and if memory serves me right LSU would need an average of over 400,000 people to attend their games in order to beat that percentage. That's with only having 2 good teams per year at most come play in Fort Worth.

Why don't people show up to games when LSU plays Troy State?

more show up for this game than TCU gets, and LSU sells all of their tickets

how many sellouts did TCU have this year? honest question

The only teams Boise can get to agree to play are regional ones because they are tired of losing recruits.

BSU makes little effort to do 1-and-dones

and BSU isn't stealing many recruits from any major program

Boise would be able to recruit more depth (athleticism isnt' the issue, it's depth)

it's size and athleticism

if they had the exposure that a BCS alignment provides.

in idaho? seriously?

Definitely of non-BCS bowls. Definitely more than the Orange. Not more than the other 4 BCS bowls though.

There's a reason it was billed by the media as the 6th BCS Bowl--because everyone knew they deserved a better bowl, and if wasn't for the stupid AQ system, they would've been in the Big East and ACC's spots.

Definitely more than the Orange

the Orange got multiple hours of un-interupted coverage on fox and a ton of talking on ESPN

more than any non-BCS bowl

TCU-BSU don't generate national hype, and people didn't really care about it last year. look at the ratings

they're solid, but unspectacular

trying to sell a few stories to the "little man"

there were better options for a 6th BCS bowl

yes the conferences who formed the system having their champions go to the games is "stupid"

shite, Boise couldn't even get selected over 2 loss tOSU last season

Some people would say Texas Tech not getting in because of the 3 team rule is a bigger tragedy than Boise/TCU being left out.

They have over 5 times the student population and God knows how many more living alumni (or rather dropouts who never graduated). LSU also isn't competing in a market where nearly everyone goes to UT, A&M, or Tech. It's kind of like Tulane in New Orleans--LSU owns the market, but Tulane is there... except TCU doesn't suck.

Two sellouts. One against Utah, the other against NM after Thanksgiving. How did LSU do after Thanksgiving?

the poinsetta bowl shows that these programs do not sell

cinci-VT is about the shittiest matchup you could ever imagine on a national scale, and it STILL beat the poinsetta bowl

multiple other non-BCS bowls beat the poinsetta bowl. why? major teams who generate major interest and generate major money

don't care

i have no clue. we had 1 game left and it was pointless b/c we weren't in line for a conference title or BCS bowl

VT doesn't get good recruiting classes and they're not that good

when they play a good team with talent, they get beat bad. LSU could have put up 60 on them in 2007

and VA has black people, so it's completely different
