What do you think?

It's stupid, but it's Klatt, so it's par for the course.

"It gives them a massive advantage
LSU played what we now know is a fringe top 15 team in FSU week 1, which also happened to be FSU's 2nd game.

That is infinitely more of a disadvantage than what Klatt is ranting about.

We should all be playing some semblance of a structure of a schedule."

TCU, Ohio State, USC are banged up. USC ends the year @ UCLA, Notre Dame and Oregon.
How many of those teams specifically played a top 15 ish team in their 1st game that was the opponent's 2nd game?

I feel gross for this, but Bama just finished a stretch of @Tenn, @LSU, Miss State, @Ole Miss.

That extra OOC game props up the entire conference. They all get an extra rent a win.

If Klatt, the Big Ten, and their other apologists really thought that was the solution to the SEC’s post season dominance over the last 20 years they could/would easily modify their own scheduling policies. As usual, they are simply grasping at straws to excuse the fact that the SEC simply dominates them when it matters.

If the Big Ten played a cupcake weekend late Klatt would say it's a much needed break because it's more physical than the SEC. He's a shill clown.

They aren't TCU, Ohio State, or USC.

Anything else?

Amazing how Big Ten fans continue to reach when it comes to explaining why the SEC continually dominates them. ??????

Gotcha. So you agree that the SEC’s overall SOS is better than the Big Ten and the latest “but it ain’t fair that they play cupcakes late in the year” is just the latest deflection by Klatt and actual Big Ten fans to avoid admitting the SEC is and has been the dominant conference for the last two decades.

Doesn't the SEC usually play conference games earlier in the schedule than the rest of the Power 5? And nothing is stopping the other conferences from the same scheduling.

You don't seem to understand. There are no "Big Ten fans". We root for our own teams and hope the others burn in hell. We don't dickride which is rampant in your conference.

That may have been the case but I don't think it is now. Ohio State opened at Minnesota last year.

If it was up to me scrub games like that would not be allowed after Sept 30 but they could just as easily take a bye week

It is beyond lame the SEC plays a those games this late but it predates the playoff. The Iron Bowl was played the week before Thanksgiving for a while until the SEC put in a rule you couldn’t have an off week the week before the SECCG

maybe, but teams like bama and AU are still going to schedule cupcakes the week before the iron bowl. It's just how they set their schedule. And I have no issue with it.

Yeah and why wouldn’t we. In 2017 we had to play uga twice and Bama in a 4 week span and had to win them all to make the playoffs. Those two played for the natty that year. Somehow we need to play another conference game in between those?
Let us end the year with Colorado, ucla, Arizona st and Stanford and then I’m sure we will be glad to play our cupcakes earlier in the year

It is really weird to me that people get so up in arms about the schedule and when teams play other teams
