Sheriff,

If this is it, there’s one moment I won’t forget.

10th grade. Louisiana. At your quarterback camp.
You inspired the kid in the green shirt.

You inspired me to work hard. To be disciplined. To be respectful. To take notes.

You inspired me to love the process. To love the sweat. To love the tears.

But most of all …

You inspired me to love the game.

Thanks, Peyton.

If this is it,

Thanks.

2 Questions:

Any other future stars in the pic?

Who's the guy to Wilson's right in the sleeveless yellow T?

He's already got a receding hairline and dad bod.

Did Jim Haslett have a kid that played QB?

Two things:

1) Nice letter, but why not wait until the retirement is official to write it?

2) Have I been under a rock? How long has Peyton been "The Sheriff?" I never have heard/seen that until yesterday, now it seems like it's everywhere.

Jon Gruden started this sometime since he has been calling the Monday night games. He has said it so much, it seems it caught on.

Gruden nicknamed him "The Sheriff" when he started doing MNF a couple years ago

I think Jeter started it a few years ago. He is a huge Michigan fan and got the rights to live stream their absurd signing day party. Beyond that, they have had some great contributions like these:
Mardy Fish "The Weight."
Braxton Miller "Dear Buckeye Nation."
Drake Davis "My Signing Day Decision."

As soon as I saw the picture, I thought the same exact thing about the guy in the yellow cutoff t-shirt. I see two other people have already made the same connection. That kid looks exactly like him.
