All deserving but probably nobody deserves one more than Marino. When every legend QB talks about the best pure passer to ever play and they all say it is Dan, you kinda feel for the guy not having a ring.

Though he did make the dumbass move to the Falcons in an effort to get the ring.

I disagree. Marino generally just wasn’t very good in the most critical games. If he had given heroic performances in playoff losses, the yes. But in his three most painful NFL losses, he was mediocre.

1. 1984 Super Bowl: 29/50, 318 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT.

2. 1985 AFCCG: 20/48, 248 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT.

3. 1992 AFCCG: 22/45, 268 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT.

A lot of people who talk about Marino never having a defense, running game, this, or that don’t know that he played college on some loaded Pitt teams. Marino was one of four future NFL Hall of Famers on the 1980 Pitt team. The 1981 and 1982 Pitt teams both lost late season games as the undefeated #1 team in the country.

I like Marino but he bears some of the blame for his lack of team success in both college and the NFL.
