According to RPI, the Big Ten was the worst BCS football conference last year. I don't know what kind of metrics they but the methodology is very flawed, to say the least.

Naw, it had the Big 10 as the third ranked conference.

But like usc said, Sagarin and the other rankings had the BE second.

Sagarin has the Big Ten ranked last. Also, Billingsley had 2009 Alabama ranked as the greatest team of all time. 1995 Nebraska is ranked sixth on the list behind the '94 team and '98 Tennessee. They also have '01 Miami at #15 and '03 LSU at #65. The computers are garbage.

Not every rating/ranking is perfect.

But the BE finished the 2009 season with the second best non conference record and the second most difficult strength of schedule.
