This tells me that the Big Ten will almost certainly add 3 total teams and have 14 teams in the conference. This is kind of shocking how fast this came out. I mean technically its still just a rumor but, it also is pretty evident that this is going to happen. What does the Big Ten become...Big 14??

From everything I am hearing, or reading, is that Pittsburgh will formally announce that they will accept an invitation to join the Big Ten on Thursday, February 4.

No fricking way.

Complete BS.

They're quoting message boards as their source for this rumor

I'll be pretty surprised if they announce on Thursday.

Assuming they do, it must be complicated to make that transition. I'm trying to remember how the new ACC teams did it, since there aren't a lot of times in the year where there are 0 conference games across all sports

For all the reasons already posted (grammar, sources, etc.), I'm not buying this at all.

That site sucks, by the way. Shitty load time and very chaotic.

Supposedly, Pitt’s athletic department officials held closed door meetings with all student-athletes this past week to speak with them about the impending move to the Big Ten. That led to Panther athletes posting this information on there Twitter pages and was quickly erased.

I want screenshots.

Btw, that's an awful sentence.

I can't even begin to process the research the Big10 is doing on their end to determine the feasibility of somebody joining the conference, and I don't think people understand all it entails. No way they conducted so much research, went through all of their contracts, went over all of the legal aspects, ran all of the scenarios, and most importantly got approval from every member in a month's time frame. No fricking way.

Unless Joe-Pa isnt going to be the coach at Penn State next year, no way Penn State agreed to this.

No shite. There's a reason why Penn St doesn't play Pitt anymore. There's also a reason why Cinci will never join the Big10, just like Pitt won't.

I'd love to stomp Pitt on an annual basis though. I just hope we wouldn't play them in the annual "Save Wannstache's Job" game at the end of the year.

I don't understand Pittsburgh's motivation. Their football is good, but let's not joke around, they're a basketball school first and the Big East > Big Ten in basketball. Granted, I haven't checked the money trail, so I'm probably missing a crucial detail or ten.

Also, if this raid turns into the theft of Syracuse, Connecticut, Rutgers, etc., does the Big East disband or what? They're running out of contenders to steal from somewhere else.
