i stated this about a week ago.....and according to most on this board, everybody deserves a big fat cookie....no matter how shitty their seasons were.

it's just laughable at letting all these 6-6 teams in. Seriously, if you dont even have a winning record in the regular season you have no business being awarded a bowl game.

the bowl games don't bother me nearly as much as coaches and schools getting bonuses for shitty seasons

With a win on the 30th, Merlins will trail the Hogs bowl win total by one since '92.

Why is it ALWAYS Arkansas fans starting threads like this?
You realize the Hogs are 4-15 in the past 19 bowl games they have been in.
GFY

And on jan 10, we will miss having every one of those games for the next 8 months.
Exactly.
Also, lol at the people talking shite about the Cotton Bowl match-up. BCSCG and Fiesta Bowl are the only games that I would watch over the Cotton Bowl.

The rest of the bowls.... didn't include the BCS bowls in the OP b/c they are the only relevant bowls nowdays.
One thing that should not happen are these minor bowls being played on Jan 7th and 8th.
Go Daddy Bowl - Mobile
Ark St. 10-2 vs N. Illinois 10-3
I understand wanting more exposure but win more, get better, build a fan base and prove it in a bigtime bowl, or win in the season when your mid-major team takes those million dollar paydays.
Compass Bowl - B'ham
SMU 7-5 vs. Pitt 6-6
This bowl should be played about Dec. 21st.
I now see these 2 bowls are both in Alabama, that explains it all.
Cotton Bowl - Jerry World
Arkansas 10-2 vs. KState 10-2
BCS 6 v. BCS 8 The Cotton should be a BCS bowl anyways, it's got tradition, history, a great venue in a football crazy location. Nix the champ game, and rotate it among the bowls like it used to be and include the Cotton. Hopefully the boys will show up, win big, and start the MNC talk for next season. Be a great way to close and gain a full head of steam for closing strong on NSD.
other BCS games
Rose Bowl - Pasadena
Oregon 11-2 vs. Wisconsin 11-2
No problems
Fiesta Bowl - Glendale, AZ
Stanford 11-1 vs. Ok. St. 11-1
Should be Stanford v. Va Tech, but losing to Iowa St. was unforgiveable. Can't falter like that if you want to go to the 'ship.
Sugar Bowl - N.O.
Michigan 10-2 vs. Va. Tech 11-2
Should be Mich St./Boise St. v Bama
This will be the manufactured success that UM needs to get back on top of the Big 10 and to make head way in recruiting the south again.
Orange Bowl - Miami
West Virginia 9-3 vs. Clemson 10-3
6 combined losses in a BCS game is embarassing. The auto tie ins have to go.
BCS title game - N.O.
LSU 13-0 vs Alabama 11-1
It's the right match up, but I do think you need to win your conference to be eligible to play for the MNC. This might send us closer to a playoff, I like the bowls and the lack of a playoff it keeps the arguments going on forever. I just think there's a ton of stinker bowl games this year.
I'm rooting for LSU but it'll be hard to outcoach Saban & crew this time out. QB play is the factor I'm looking at. I'm gonna say LSU 22 Alabama 20

Well at least they will have a chance in the Cotton Bowl this time.

I'm pretty pleased with most of the big game match-ups... some of the best there has been recently IMO.
