Do think the Stros should've tried for Singleton(young prospect A baller) or Rizotti(closer to MLB ready bat), or demanded a 4th prospect, even if say a stalled one..like Savery, Mathieson, etc..
Especially, if asked to chip in so much Roy O salary.

Why are they so worried about drafting/acquiring all these raw speed guys? Did I miss something? Are we moving back to the AstroDome?

espn reporting the deal was for Happ, Gose, and Singleton. The astros are going to flip Gose to Toronto for something yet to be disclosed.

This would be much better than the earlier names thrown out.

Happ, Villar, Gose.
If this is it Wade should pack up and leave town under the cover of darkness tonight.

Two sources "not involved in the trade" tell Ed Price of AOL Fanhouse that the Astros will acquire first base prospect Jonathan Singleton from the Phillies as part of the Roy Oswalt trade.
For what it's worth, Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer hears otherwise and we're even hearing that Singleton is in the starting lineup for Single-A Lakewood on Thursday night. That being said, if the Astros are able to pry Singleton away, it would be quite a get. He's batting .312/.418/.526 with 12 homers, 57 RBI and a 944 OPS as an 18-year-old.

Unless Happ turns out to be a 20 game winner this trade is worse than the Wagner trade.
Wade is not respected by other GMs and either are the astros. This would seem to be a pure salary dump judging by the prospects they got in return, however they are also giving the phils $11M! When you pay them that much you have to get one premium upper level prospect. Not to jabronis in A-ball who will never make the big leagues.
FAIL

Just received my astros.com email update on the deal.
The Stros got Happ, Gose, and Villar. No Singleton.
Adios Roy O.

Singleton's dead. not part of the deal. the info I read on that was on ESPN but it was attached to an article that was written earlier today.
its Happ
Villar
Gose
for:
Roy and $11M
They are saying Gose will be flipped to the Blue Jays, but no word on what they are getting in return or if he's part of a larger deal involving more players.

there's going to be a presser in 30 mins. someone's going to ask about Singleton
Posted on 7/29/10 at 3:34 pm to msutiger
Gose to Toronto for 36 year old Infielder John McDonald. Book it! Ed Wade is on a roll.
Posted on 7/29/10 at 3:35 pm to Tiger Ryno
The more I read about Singleton the more I get pissed off. An 18 year old with an OPS close to 1 in A ball. frick I NEED TO GO FOR A WALK
