I thought the statement was axiomatic. When you take everything that is Michael Jordan, copy it, and try to pass it off as your own, you don't really ever deserve to be in a "who's better" comparison. He's the GOAT copycat, but his legacy is the legacy of a copycat.

WTF? So we have a player who can almost mimic the GOAT and that's a bad thing?

I have gone to three Rockets games so far this year and I can clearly see that Dwight Howard plays the clown role to a T...

Didn't MJ win Defensive Player of the Year one year?

I have been a Lakers fan since the early 80s and loathed MJ during his entire NBA tenure. That being said, MJ>Lebron>Kobe. As much as I hate to admit it, MJ was simply the best to ever play the game.

I can't believe someone who argues Jordan "couldn't defend" has watched any tape from before he was on the Wizards. He obviously developed his game as he aged anyway. By the end of the second threepeat his midrange shooting was excellent (and his lifetime FG% is still impressive for his position).

He was saying he couldn't defend at the start of his career. That's a limitation he overcame with work ethic

There is clearly a ready comprehension problem spreading like a virus on TD.

well, you must not know much about basketball.

Well instead of flippant comments like that, why don't you actually provide examples of how Kobe was an innovator in the NBA. How did he change the way the position of shooting guard was played? I'll wait.

Disagree here. It was Kobe who started the straight to the NBA from high school revolution. Kobe made that the cool thing to do.

KG made the jump the year before Kobe. And making the jump from high school to the pros had been done numerous times, going back as far as the 40s. Kobe didn't start any revolution. He followed.

Kobe was the first guard to ever get drafted straight out of high school. All the others before him were big men.

Yeah the last two playoff series that a Laker led Shaq team failed to win he averaged 25 ppg/16 rpg and 25 ppg/11 rpg.

Also basketball is entertainment. It is great to have the superstars like Shaq and Lebron who also have a likeable fun on court personality.

It is a fricking game. I am a huge Basketball and NBA fan too.
