I don't understand these guys who say, 'ok we accept LeBron isn't as goood' but then they still argue it, try to downplay Jordan's moments, rationalize LeBron's against it...

Does it matter that Jordan had much, much stiffer competition in the east including 2 dynasties in the Celtics and Pistons?
It was better, but not by enough to make a huge difference. The Bulls were still better than their opponents in those series. The only team that was truly a comparable match was the 1998 Pacers.

Besides, I think the Cavs would gladly take some marginally tougher competition in each of the three rounds in the East than to have to play a superior team in the Finals.

The Bulls were better because they had Jordan. Jordan was better. Players are what makes teams better. The teams that win are always better. If LeBron was as good as Jordan his teams would be better and they would win more.

Well the downplaying is ridiculous, but there still needs to be contexts in the 6-0, 2-4 argument.

If MJ had to play the GSWers the last two years, the 2007 Spurs and the 2014 Spurs, there is a good chance he would have at least a loss or two in there.

Again he's better than LeBron, but context is still important when discussing team accomplishments.

Sure but neither really struggled much in the Eastern Conference (a couple 7 games series each). The competition disparity wasn't that different, especially since Heat/Cavs and Bulls were so much better than their conference opponents that the marginal difference wasn't going to have a huge outcome.

The NBA Finals, when playing the top end teams, is where that disparity had an impact.

Yes Definitely.

But not likely to be good enough to beat GS the past 2 seasons.

I don't think the Bulls were that much better than Knicks of the time (who went up 2-0 as mentioned in the OP) except they had Jordan.

From a talent standpoint, the Magic could certainly compete with them.

The Pacers had a team capable of competing against them.

The Heatles biggest threat was the Celtics followed by the Bulls.

If you're referring to the 4-3 series in the conference semifinals, they were SIGINICANTLY better than the Knicks. It was comparative to the Warriors, Grizzlies last year in terms of disparity and how it played out.

Sure, but these teams were inferior enough that the marginal differences probably aren't going to have a signicant impact (i.e., Heat should have beaten Bulls opponents and vice versa).

Can we stop hearing about MJ's 6-0 Finals record vs Lebron's 2-4 record? We've established that MJ's better yet MJ people keep bringing it up.

And if we substitute Jordan for LeBron, what would their record be. They win the Mavs series (and obviously the two finals that LeBron won), and that may be it. So Jordan would have been 3-4 (after this finals) MAYBE 4-3. Better but not undefeated.

Well this isn't what we're arguing so maybe you should figure out what the conversation is about before spouting some irrelevant nonsense.

I don't know. We don't to have entertain hypotheticals and worry about these ifs and buts to defend Jordan. He's the GOAT just the way it happened.
