PGA does not pay taxes which is so messed up when 4 months of Joe's work goes to Uncle Sam

Every other pro sports league pays taxes from NBA, MLB, NFL, etc. PGA doesn't. They would be on the hook for apparantly $300 mil to $1 billion in back taxes over all the years if so. They are a 501c6, which is not same as a charity, but has same taxes as charity. Which is dumb because they do virtually zero charity work anymore so than othe pro leagues that pay taxes. Another article listed 2% of their opex goes to charity work.
It likely brought in over $2 bil in revenue last year, and makes around $150 mil in net income based on assumption from an article saying "it brought in $1.5 billion in revenue in 2019". Article also said it made over $100 mil net income on that $1.5 bil. Another article said PGA made $1.8 bil in 2023 in revenue.
Their reasoning is that they are not set up as a company with shares where those at the top get rich, yet Jay Monohan made $23 million in 2023. That should qualify as a company. These are other 2022 exec salaries that definitely increased since then LINK . In 2024, they paid $284 million in payroll to 1300 employees, avg of $220k per employee. This is on line with any other Fortune 500 company.
Makes no sense how PGA doesn't have to pay a cent of tax when they make exponentially more than an average Joe. I personally hope the various causes trying to make them to, them parternering with LIV will likely do it, cause them to have to pay billions in back taxes.
Prize money gets taxed, but that's no different than a company having to pay taxes, then the salaries they pay to employees also have to be taxed. Except the PGA doesn't.

We can talk about their tax exempt status, but this is just factually untrue. They donate an assload to charities. Many local to the areas where they hold tournaments.

It isn't true that they do it anymore so than the NFL or NBA.

Which lowers those entities taxable income

What about PGA Tour Enterprises?

The PGA Stores are owned by the Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank company. They get taxed like a company. They aren't directly owned by PGA, but somehow Blank pays them a fee using their brand.

It doesn't lower PGA's taxable earnings. They don't pay any taxes. It's $0.00 either way. I read an article that 2% to 3% of their expenditures go to charity. Just pretty ridiculous to get the same tax advantages as a charity, yet 2% or 3% goes to actual charity.

That’s not what he’s talking about. He’s talking about the for profit entity that is about work in conjunction/ replace the nontaxable Tour entity after the investment from Strategic Sports Group.
Or you didn’t know about that?

Only recently did the NFL give up their tax exemption.

Your post history is the link. It reads like the mix of an ignorant teenage brat and a jaded female stalker.

Don’t think that is close to accurate. They don’t even run the events with the exception of The Players.
