Wait, Tom brady has has gotten his team to EIGHT superbowls? Holy shite. That means that 8 different times the patriots have beaten out the efforts of 15 AFC teams to make it to the SB.

That's almost unbelievable.

No, you watched him win

You watched Manning turn an all-time stinker of a performance and get his ring on the back of an all-world defense. Which is awesome. But let's stop with the "Manning would be 8/8 with Belichick" bullshite.

I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make. Yes, Manning was terrible his last season and a half or so. He was also suffering from a degenerative nerve injury that resulted in progressive loss of arm strength. He wasn't the same player.

So you are saying that Super Bowls are a TEAM accomplishment?

I always say the estimate of a real winner is how much they were in contention
The estimate is how well they played their position, that's really it. It's simple, not sure why we make it so complex.

Should be sending Von and the Boys residual checks for 2015, that defense was transcendent and he was basically a game manager throughout that playoff run

Hell, I know Elway is way better than Brady and Manning as a pure QB. It isnt even a debate on talent.

Yeah, I'm not gonna dispute that point Elway was essentially the Statue of David of quarterbacks, had every tangible/intangible and one of the most clutch athletes ever The Drive

The nitpicking spin doctors are working extra hard today, Peyton played 17 seasons (missed 2011) advanced to only 4 SBs, wonder what he was up to those other 13 seasons, I know TB12 spent literally half his career in Super Bowl games, I'll take advancing to the Super Bowl over this SB win pct thing any day of the week

Not fumble.

Not lose to Nick Foles and Eli Manning twice.

How can anyone be the GOAT losing to that shite?

Bart Starr is arguably the greatest big game quarterback in the history of this game, 5x world champ, 2x Super Bowl champ and won both corresponding MVP awards LEGENDARY

But you're fine with Elway losing to a dude named Mark Malone.

IIRC he lost to Hostetler in the 1993 AFC playoffs as well

Nope. What I'm saying is that I don't believe Manning would have gone 8/8 had he been a Pat.

Yeah, and Manning is number one in those statistical categories.

Only for one or two more years. Drew Brees is about to supplant all of his records. And yet no one will ever call Brees the GOAT, save for maybe New Orleans fans.
