I'd swap Sanders' and Payton's positions.
I agree with this.
And you're a fricking idiot.

Moore was very underrated or forgotten today. He and Unitas made the colts offense. He could do it all.
Lenny would not make my top 10 runners. A lot of his yardage was pass receiving.
And don't leave out Raymond Berry. He and Unitas perfected the sideline route where Berry set his toes at the line and caught the pass while falling out of bounds.
I hated to see Unitas stay in the NFL a year too long. But Namath did the same thing.

There's no reason for Marshall Faulk not to be on this list
he didn't really blow up until he ran in a system that was revolutionary (for the time)
other backs had mega success in that system, too
you put LT in the Rams offense in the late 90s and i can only imagine what stats he puts up

He was damn good with the Colts. I have no problem putting him ahead of LT.

This list is definitely missing Marshall Faulk. He did the same things as Lenny Moore except he did them better and longer. And he did them against better competition. Also, Gale Sayers is questionable as a running back. He would be my #1 all-purpose guy, but there are others who would rate higher just as a running back, e.g. Eric Dickerson.

OK. The Colts Offense was just as good as the Rams was.
Posted on 1/7/12 at 10:52 am to dukke v
the whole point is that the rams offense turned faulk from a good RB into a hall of fame RB
so you saying the rams offense is better is saying exactly what i'm saying. so thanks for making my point

He would have made the HOF with the Colts had he stayed. Plus you could say that Faulk MADE the Rams O a GREAT one instead of just a good one.

uh, based on what?

trung candidate filled in for faulk in 2001 for 2 games and averaged 5.7 ypc for the year. he averaged 8.5 and 9.1 yards per carry in the 2 games he filled in for faulk
and then there is what priest holmes did for the chiefs in the same system. pedestrian RB to beast. mode.

BO was probably the GREATEST PURE athlete EVER. But to say he was a great NFL back would be a fail. Ya never know how good he could have been had he not ruined his hip. But I would not put him in THIS class unless you are talking about '87 tecmo-bowl.

TRUE. But I just don't see LT doing with the Colts what Faulk did.

Ducky, I DON'T SEE how he wouldn't PUT UP similar or BETTER numbers IN THAT offense during his PRIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what part couldn't he do?
in 2003, for example. he ran for 5.3 ypc (1645 total) and caught 100 balls. and this wasn't in the colts offense
LT routinely caught 50+ balls in a regular offense
he also rushed for 1800+ yards once 28 rushing TDs) and had 56 receptions also (at 9.1 ypr)

Priest Holmes should be on that list.

Thats right. It was in a MUCH better offense.

i meant the rams offense. the martz offense took the NFL by storm and was successful through al saunders running it in KC with priest holmes. LT was not part of any such revolutionary offense
