MLB ditched Marge Schott for commenting that Hitler started out well by promising jobs as a means of getting elected, which is factually true (my mother grew up in Nazi Germany). So how does the NBA let this fool hang around?

Are they now hoping that between Buss (Lakers) and the Maloof brothers (the future Anaheim Kings) that he gets squeezed out and is forced to sell (maybe to a group that revives the Seattle Supersonics?)

I keep asking myself that considering the guy is a complete and total embarrassment in his personal life as well as the way he runs the Clip Show.

The main thing working in his favor is that he's rich enough to do whatever he wants and, despite how much the Clippers tend to suck, he's great at turning a profit with them each year. Easy to do that when you can play the cheaper alternative to the Lakers to anyone wanting to watch an NBA game in person.

Swisher's ability to switch hit gives their lineup some flexibility. Markakis is a better defender and has more speed, but thats about it. Markakis has 30 HRs the last 2 years, Swisher hit 30 alone last year.

Markakis' worst season BA is 291. Swisher hit 288 last year, but is a career 250 hitter. Despite Swisher's huge HR advantage, they slug the same and have about the same number of total bases because of Markakis' doubles power. Markakis does almost everything better than Swisher except hit homers, and that was Swisher's career year. I expect his BA to decline to his career levels, keep his power, and Markakis will outperform him in almost all metrics.

Hitting homers is a big thing, but a 15 HR power gap doesn't make Swisher a better player.

swisher's career OBP is nearly identical to Markakis, fwiw. just a notch below
