quote:I’ve been trying to figure out what evidence is out there from this, and Josh links a paywalled message board convo so I can’t really figure what’s going on there with Brent Zdebski.
Josh Henschke made a post mentioning a staffer with OSU doing the same thing
That said, I see some Michigan fans on Twitter showing a Venmo transaction between Sam McGrath, a defensive quality control coach, and Brent, from September 21st with a shamrock. That’s 2 days before the Notre Dame game, so while it could be something nefarious, the timing during ND week doesn’t really help there.
This also seems to stem from people finding Stallions Venmo, which I’m not sure if there was actually anything meaningful on there or not, although the internet sleuths seemed to think so. That said, to whatever extent stuff like this is common, I’m skeptical that we’re going to find a lot of info on public Venmo transactions. But who knows.

I’m starting to think Tony Petitti is going to disqualify Michigan from the Big Ten championship this season. So much has come out in the past 5 days. If they get actual video evidence, Michigan’s season is probably fricked.

That would be a smart move since it could get 2 Big 10 teams in the CFP again.

If they get actual video evidence,

quote:It’s hard for me to be unbiased in this, but I think there is a fairly decent chance that there is going to a number of games from 2021-2023 that will be “forfeited.” Not sure if entire seasons, or just games where they have evidence of this scouting, but even those might enough to say they will ban them from postseason play for the current year. Then again, this is such a weird and unprecedented thing, and we are dealing with organizations (especially ncaa) who make decisions that make little sense, so who knows.

Paying them (presumably with athletic dept. funds) is beyond where I thought this would end.
I thought there was a good chance they find the actual videos taken from the dudes laptop and that would be the worst of it.

Brock Huard was on Cowherd a few days ago and he said they've been hearing about this for a while now. Its not anything surprising to him and others in the industry. It doesn't bother him because he's been on teams that were doing the same thing. But it begs the question, why is it only coming out now?

Can someone who's been following this closely explain to me how this is different from what Clemson was doing? I'm trying to sort through all of the information and the two cases seem to be pretty similar to me, but Michigan is taking way more heat for it

What Clemson was doing = baserunners stealing signals in MLB.
What Michigan is accused of doing = what the Astros did.

As much as I dislike him he can coach.
He would look good in black and gold.
Also he would hate the city it would be an interesting dynamic.
