That's great and all, but now you are just getting away from your original ignorant statement that he "knowingly let this go on"
Not at all.

So was he blowing kids or butthumping them? I mean it doesn't really matter either way but it seems like butthumping a kid would be way more traumatic for a child.

Pedophiles do not quit. And they don't start at 55 years old. This is only the tip of the ice berg.
Exactly.
This is going to be really bad.

sorry earl but when a guy is caught blowing a child within your facilities at the very least you disassociate yourself from him and bar him from the facilities. Joe Pa appeared to do neither.
It was just allegations at that point. It never came to light for whatever reason, remains undetermined.

You're disgusting.
Your the one who has been defending the continual coverup of a pedophile. So enjoy that.

I'd let all the facts come out before i start slanging BS like that.
It is already a cover up.
You know your defensive coordinator is molesting children and you allow him to resign...and still allow him to associate himself with the program and he continues to molest kids. He is seen by a GA and then you claim to report it to the administration a few years after he resigns.
And then you allow him to have sleep over camps with 9 year old's.
Again...no way he can survive this shite storm. This is only the tip...wait until the other's start coming forward. And others will come forward.

Both

A fricking men. The people defending him in this case are disgusting. Im embarrassed as a human.
We bitch about someone not reporting a rape in the street though they may have told their neighbors but not JoPa for not potentially stopping some kid from getting abused? bullshite. The man had a responsibility to go to the police or to follow up on his initial report to the administration.
if any kids were abused after this event, it's on his and the grad asst. who initially saw it.

Both. And each time it was witnessed firsthand by other people. One a grad assistant, and the other a janitor.
Yet Joe Pa is to blame that this never came to light until now.

I haven't really seen many people making a big deal about Sandusky being a fricking creep. It just seems like everyone went right to JoePa.
People in this thread have said he's JUST AS BAD as Sandusky. JUST AS BAD as the guy who blew a 10 year old.

What really needs to be said about Sandusky's status as one of the worse human beings alive right now?
The only think talking about Sandusky would do is produce a thread where each poster tries to one-up the previous poster with their description of how much they hate him, etc.

this is pretty universally agreed upon. No debate needed.

Tons of people defending him saying he did all that he needed by reporting it up the chain several years ago. This is the issue.

They are all to blame. Every single one of them.
Posted on 11/7/11 at 12:27 pm to Lester Earl
you really believe a witness came to him and said "hey I saw one of your coaches doing something inappropriate" and Paterno never asked for any particulars and just reported something happened?

He should be slapped on the wrist, no doubt. But at this point he is taking too much heat because of his iconic status.
No, he should step down.

You have the first hand witnesses to blame, first and foremost
Sure, unless he was told by JoePa to keep it quiet...

Then you have Joe Pa's higher ups to blame.
You really need to recognize that the titles and the actual amount of power at that school are not balanced in the manner that they should be...

AG says that 1998 investigation was handled by Penn St PD...(looks even worse that GA's story in 2002 didn't trigger an outside call.)

Trying to equate a poster saying being a head football coach at a university is a busy job to him saying that Penn state football is more important than the welfare of kids is a broad reach.
Not calling the police when you find out that a child has been raped in your locker room implies that you don't care about the welfare of children...
