I think Joe Pa is in charge of that locker room.

If you were someone I had known for 20 years, absolutely I would.

but having that piece of information (a child rape) you wouldn't follow up on it to completion? I get the reporting it to a superior, but from then on, not following up and seeing it through is ridiculous

Not exactly. If there had never been any other presumptions of this, I think I would confront this friend first, and then decide what to do after that.

Here, it would appear that JoePa knew in the past, at some level, that there were allegations of him messing with boys, and in that case I think I would go to the authorities right away...

He is the most powerful human being working at Penn State University. What part of that don't you understand? He had prior knowledge of rape by his sick friend on his football facility grounds and did nothing but sweep it under the rug. What kind of seared conscience does Paterno have?

If I found out my friend did this to a kid I would personally drag his arse to the police station and sit there while he confessed and I would do everything in my power to ensure the longest sentence possible. Most honorable men would do the same.

Joe lacks honor, courage, and the common decency I would expect a real MAN and a real LEADER to have. HE IS A JOKE>

Someone help me out here. A guy saw the dick sucking of a TEN year old boy in the PSU locker room. Then told JoePa. Joe then tells....whoever he told.......about the dick sucking, and then didn't say another word about it? All the while the guy who sucked TEN year old dick is still around and not in any trouble what so ever?! I'm not gonna even get into what I think is morally right or wrong there......how the hell can PSU expect to field a freakin team?! How would a parent let their son play football for them?! He HAS to go.

I thought he was forced to retire? To me this is even worse because it proves that they thought the offense was big enough to force him to retire but not big enough for them to call the cops.

Truly fricking insane.

I don't think this forced him into retirement. I believe that he was already retired but asked not to bring kids on to campus...unfricking believable.

Anyone who thinks that the lack of action Joe Pa took was acceptable is gross, but that is another discussion. Joe Pa HAS to be out of a job. Coaches have been canned for locking players in a shack and for being seen with strippers. A coach has to fill the leader and role model position for a college team to be successful nowadays with how fierce recruiting is and all of that. There is no way they can keep him is there?

Ok, so he is caught showering with a kid in 98.

Retires in 99

A janitor sees him in 2000 with another kid and oral sex in the shower.

A grad assistant catches him in the shower again in 2002, this time doing the unthinkable and tells Jo Pa.....

And he was still working out at the team facilities last week?

I've only read the first couple pages, but if this has been brought up already sorry for the clutter. This is almost hilarious, but quite disturbing and arrogant. This guy is a sociopath... check out the title of Mr. Sandusky's book

Check out the reviews

If all that is true, that seems almost criminal for every person that had knowledge.

Joe Pa has to resign or the school has to fire him. PSU has to distance themselves from every part of this thing and completely clean house. There is no way after all this has gone down that Joe Pa can walk into a recruit's home and tell the parents to trust their kid with him.

It can be debated to the cows come home how much of the blame should go to Joe Pa, but there are definitely enough facts that show PSU (Joe Pa included) harbored a pedophile for a # of yrs and allowed him to molest many children at their school. OSU cleaned house bc some players were getting some $$ on the side and the head coach knew about it. This is 10000000000000000x worse!

You know better. You are staying in this rut for the sake of argument. If I were your boss I would tell you to go call the god damned cops. I am pretty sure most employers would.

You just described the "pass the buck' scenario and I think most people have more balls than that. If this is truly your opinion (which I doubt) I would hate to be your supervisor.

For raping a child? Do you know how serious this is and what can happen if you know, and he continues to do it?
