It really would not shock me to see OSU lose more than 2 this year.

not really

a big part of being a great team is winning games your supposed to win

tOSU wasn't "supposed" to beat USC

USC was "supposed" to annihilate Oregon State

great logic. lets have a team who got demolished by 30 points be ranked ahead of the team that did the demolishing.

makes perfect sense, what was i thinking

I am pretty sure this has happened before.

I think the point that Bay is making is that USC plays no one the rest of this year vs tOSU who has a shot to beat a few ranked teams and move up in polls.

excuse me?

you said that USC should be ranked higher than tOSU because USC beat tOSU

I provided an obvious example why you were wrong

and you're calling me a ranter for it?

wow, I'd have loved to see how you dealt with the 35-14 blowout that Tennessee handed Georgia last year

i would rank the 1-loss teams

1. auburn
2. usc
3. ohio state

ohio state may still have to play a few ranked teams the rest of the season but those teams are still from the big ten so i would not place too much emphasis on those wins

At this point in the season I agree

I'm inclined to agree with that right now.. but that ranking doesn't mean much because there will be one more very good 1 loss team by the time the next polls come out.

After USC loss the NC Game is Big 12 and the SEC to lose with the 8 they have ranked in the top ten currently.

This is ridiculous. Head to head should matter, obviously.

Nobody is saying that if USC keeps losing and OSU keeps winning that OSU will have to stay below USC.

But all else equal, if they both keep winning and end up with 1 loss, only an idiot would vote OSU above USC.

this is a really good point that I think a lot of people are missing. The USC loss gives the eventual SEC and Big 12 champs a cusion(is that how you spell that fricking word?).

And bay, you and stout are dumbasses if you think a 1-loss Ohio State should go over a 1-loss USC. I understand that OSU's loss would be better, but you go head-to-head before better losses in the tie-breakers.

eta---you're both more than likely dumbasses anyway. Your thoughts on this are pretty moot.

This isn't the only reason. OSU still has a chance to beat 3 ranked teams vs USC that doesn't play anymore ranked teams. SOS has to come in play at some point over head to head IMO. Plus, as far as the human part of the pole goes, voters wil realize that OSU didn't have their #1 back when they played.
