not entirely true.
But when your conference does nothing to enhance your status, you better walk through it unscathed.

Based on the current system, does any one here claim that USC belongs in either the #1 or #2 BCS positions
I don't think they deserve to be anywhere other than where they are right now. In Pasadena. The right two teams are in Miami.

Wonder how bad this game will get.

If USC played in the SEC they would have at least 2 losses a year. And don't give me the "they won at Arkansas and Auburn in the last five years" BS. Let them play the SEC gauntlet every single year, recruiting against them, playing against them, etc.....it would be fun to watch. If they blow a Stanford or Oregon State game every year, imagine what they'd do when they play Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and LSU every year (or something like that).
Conversely, I'd love to see Florida or Bama or us (2008 notwithstanding) play in the Pac 10 every year. It'd be nice to have a virtual bye to a BCS bowl and AP national title every year.
These kind of statements are why college football fans nationally laugh at SEC fans.
To say USC would have "at least 2 losses each year" in the SEC when they have just as good if not better talent than anyone at the top of the conference (I'd say they have the most talent, with UF a close second) is idiotic.
The SEC has its poor teams as well in Vanderbilt, KY, MSU, AU (now), USCe (got embararred vs. Iowa [a lowly Big 10 team according to all of you].
Yes the SEC is stronger than the Pac10. I don't think anyone would argue against that, but it is a better conference than most of you point out, and has some teams like Stanford that will be going to bowls in the near future.

i don't disagree with this at all. However you're making some stupid points.

kinda like the SEC having Vandy going and winning a bowl game this year?

anybody that looks at alabama's schedule from this year or next year and thinks that USC would be a lock to lose 2 games needs some help

I completely agree. To say USC is a worse program than Florida or LSU is insane. What we are trying to get everyone to realize is that they are not God's gift to football, and are not heads and shoulders above everyone else. They are on the same level.
ETA: That was an awful spot

USC is not THAT good ,Lynxcat, no matter how much you laugh at SEC fans.
If they were that good, they would have the hardware to prove it.

THANK YOU!
Said perfectly.
They just may well be a better team than UF or OU or whoever, but they're not a fricking NFL team. They're not god's gift to CFB.
They're a team that has unbelievable recruiting, a great coach, and a good 6 year run. This isn't OU in the 70's.

Interesting there was no replay re: that great spot
