Patriots:
1 Penalty 10 Yards

Jags:
6 Penalties 98 Yards

They may not rig for certain teams to win but they can sure call a tougher game on one side.

I think the Patriots didn't clothesline any Jaguars WR's on passing routes. Probably because the Jags completely shut it down in the 2nd half with that padded 4 point lead.

How do the Patriots get pass interference penalties when Fournette gets it every time? I did see Patriots get away with a few holding calls on the o-line. But that happens nearly every play anyway.

Yeah, I mean I get the point of the thread. But the penalties deal is still an excuse. And it's hard to make excuses when you were up double digits at half and the Patriots didn't have their best player for the 2nd half of the game.

I was obviously speaking in hyperbole. But the Jags were super conservative in the 2nd half.

And the 30 yard pi penalty in Jacksonville was ticky tack at best.

Unless a penalty is blatant the ref should swallow the whistle. On most every play you can flag for holding or PI according to the letter of the law.

Also, the refs need training/conditioning to be impartial and keep themselves separate from the crowd and momentum around them. Homefield advantage should not include calls.

I’m not even including the pic of the ref yucking it up with the Pats in the end zone. He should be reprimanded and made an example of. They are the rule enforcers. People would be up in arms if a judge would do that with one side in a court case.

It gave Jags DB the license to turn in to Roddy Rowdy Piper and Clothesline the guy? I was shocked he just didn't try to pin Cooks for the 3 count after he strangled him.

Not really. They were up 10 in the 2nd half.

All points count the same regardless of when they are scored

A gift wrapped touchdown in the 2nd quarter matters just as much as a gift wrapped touchdown in the fourth

This isn't my opinion, it's just math

Jacksonville only had 6 penalties themselves. It was a pretty clean game overall

You could argue the second cooks PI for sure, but the first one and the Gronk hit were without question penalties. Another was a a false start on Cam Robinson and an illegal shift penalty on jax, and The delay of game penalty

So you have 3 penalties that were pre snap penalties on Jacksonville
1 penalty that was without question a defenseless WR hit on Gronk
2 deep PIs.

If you want to argue that the Pats have paid the refs, this is possibly the worst game to pick to do it
