Yep. It’s mainly PI that drives me crazy. QBs on 3rd and long can just throw it up there even if no one is open and it’s about 50/50 if you’ll get the call and a free 25 yards. Kind of ridiculous, they may need to make it just 15 yards like college

but the PAT rule is just retarded. Moving it back shouldn't make a big difference to kickers, but it DOES frick up fakes.

What? Weren’t kickers making PATs at a 98-99+% clip?

If they’re going to keep PATs they might as well make them sort of challenging for the kicker.

do you not understand that half the players on the field are trying to get away with breaking some rule at every second during live plays? Almost nothing is "incidental". Even if it's incidental, it probably happened bc the player was trying to get away with something else. Read up on all the little things players do that you can't see.

You're even stupid on non political issues. Congrats.

There were 181 offensive and defensive penalties, the second-fewest in Week 1 since the NFL expanded to 32 teams in 2002

Total penalties (penalties plus those that were declined) are at 200 through Week 1 (12.5 per game). Last year was 309 (19.3 per game).

Do you not agree that there is holding on every play?

And that most interference calls by the letter of the law are in fact interference? I think it was Seattle several years ago that admitted they interfered on every play because they knew the refs wouldn’t call it every time. I’m sure they weren’t the only ones.

The debate needs to be what constitutes those calls. Unfortunately interference is always going to be a bit subjective. Don’t know if that will change.

The NFL admitted after week 1 that they were focusing on "significant" penalties, and trying to avoid ticky tack ones. Also, they are focusing on the officials stopping running to view a play and throw a flag.

And I have noticed some calls, especially OL holding, not getting called if not flagrant.

But I think anything involving using the helmet as a weapon, intentional or not, is going to still get called, no matter how flagrant or not it is.

The argument against this, is that if you make it 15 yards, DBs will just tackle WRs if they get burned.

Yep. I basically stopped watching the NFL long before all the social justice nonsense because the game was over officiated and was badly officiated.

It really did become unwatchable.

It's a mediocre product, and has been.

If not for Gambling, fantasy football, and office pools, it would get ratings like the cooking channel gets. Halloween baking championship would be getting it's arse.
