This is one of the most surreal things I've ever seen. What a monumental collapse of a program in such a few short days.
It's the college football equivalent to the Berlin Wall falling. The emotions are just reversed. It's just as surreal however.

What's crazy is that Joe Pa is trying to act like he did not know the details, as if he was not sure of what really happened. His GA saw Sandusky with a 10 year old boy, whose hands were against the shower wall being sodomized by Sandusky and heard "slapping" noises. If Joe Pa did not hear these details, it is because he did not want to know. frick you Joe Paterno. You protected a child molester and ran your program into the ground to stroke your ego. There is nothing admirable about you. These students should be tearing down your statue right now.

good god guys, read the freaking report. it was not just the read head. damn near the entire village by 2002 had a hand in covering up this a-hole including the state government who just let him get away with showering with boys and hugging them in the bathroom.

I'm staying awake for that possibility.

Mike McQueary is the one that should be getting the most shite other than Sandusky IMO. Paterno put his head in the sand for sure but...
MM flat out SAW a kid getting molested/raped and never went to the cops.
If I saw that shite happen, aside from probably attacking the molester, there is no way in hell I would ever let it go until the guy was in jail.
I mean just how in the hell could he live with himself working at the school having seen what he saw and knowing they did nothing about it?

Not gonna happen, but if these kids were not so delusional, they would be tearing it down. Will be interesting to see what happens to that statue and anything with Paterno's name on it.

listen, its not as if that the peopple he told did not have the same obligatin. that all the blame falls to him is ludicrous.
but people just want to focus on how he was related to it and not the actual crime or criminal, its sad really

You underestimate the silencing effect a powerful, godlike figure like Paterno can have on the people who admire him and trust his judgment. Red head is a POS as well, but my thinking is that this gets reported if not for Joe Pa's inaction while everyone was looking to him to see what to do.

You are not paying attention. All blame hasn't been placed on him, and he is getting off lightly it appears. Others are out as well, some under investigation.

The notion that Paterno could dictate the terms of his departure, and make it sound like he was being magnanimous and altruistic, is simply the last act of a man with and enormous ego and sense of entitlement.
Well said. His edict that the B.O.T. shouldn't spend any more time on the matter of his departure was an arrogant slap... congratulations to Penn State for delivering the knockout.
With this Penn State honor lives on.

there was at least 2 additional times before the grad assistant, that someone "reported" this guy to someone they thought would do something, and nothing was ever done. Once by a janitor and once by the victim's parents.
I mean for fricks sake, the grad assistant, tells JoePa that the ex coach is raping kids, and he doesn't even sayt he can't come on campus anymore, not even talking about reporting him to the police, he doesn't even tell him to stop coming around.
WTF are you supposed to do when you see an entire city basically is involved in a cover up.
Everyone keeps saying "why didn't they call the police" THEY CALLED THE POLICE 5 YEARS AGO
this shite is going to get nasty.

is it just me or do you guys just want to punch anyone in the face for defending JoePa,
Amen brother....it is beyond my comprehension how anyone can defend anyone that knew anything about this. Fuk Joe Pa, fuk wins/losses, fuk all that shite....little boys were molested and their innocence shattered. The thoughts going through that poor boys head while being raped and someone walking in on it and not doing anything....I just want one hour with all these bastards.

I am kinda bothered that you arent lesson planning and getting ready for a workday at this time of night, but i figuuuure you are outright lying, teaching takes alot of work. I know this, currently getting a math ed degree.
I hope this is a joke. Please do not give other educators a bad name and go for the asst manager position at Wendy's.
