I think I also was always impressed for some reason that he didn't rake in the millions that other coaches make

He still made over a million/yr. for basically being a puppet.

Don't get me wrong, I literally hate this happened to JoPa, but he brought it on himself. Really wish it had ended another way.

Someone said this and I feel the same way

For some of us older guys, Paterno was a link to our past, one of the only links between modern football and college football in the past. Barry Krause stopping Matt Guman on 4th down in the 79 Sugar Bowl. Paterno and coaching goes back to before we were born, and when we were kids. It's really hard to believe it ended this way

When Dr. Phil is doing college football commentary.....you know this is no ordinary Yahoo Sports investigation.

I am kinda bothered that you arent lesson planning and getting ready for a workday at this time of night, but i figuuuure you are outright lying, teaching takes alot of work. I know this, currently getting a math ed degree.

I hope that for your sake, you find forgiveness somewhere, because the guilt of what has been done to the innocence of so many children is just too much to comprehend.

I heard a talk radio guy today with a good point. He said, "do you think Joe Pa would have acted any different if the kid in the shower had been one of his grandkids?". Just didn't give much of a shite.......

I really can't fathom how the ginger did not stop the rape. I haven't been following the story closely but assumed he had just witnessed them in inappropriate situations, not full-fledged rape. This is pretty ridiculous. Furthermore, how could you stay employed at a place like that? I would have quit.

Please give us your name and University so that we can ensure you never become a teacher. You do realize teacher's have a statutory obligation to report abuse to police?

I would get the kid out of there, call the police, and beat the ever living dog shite out of that piece of work until the cops took his arse to jail.

I am stealing a post I saw elsewhere but since its exactly what I was thinking here it is

quote:

Mike McQueary, the grad assistant that saw Sandusky in the shower and is now the WRs coach, is still employed.

If you're going to fire JoePa for basically "not doing enough" then WTF?

also, I wonder just how many of those trustees that voted to fire Paterno also knew something about the cover up.

I find it hard to believe all of them were in the dark as well.

or even if this wasn't a case of child abuse but of something like embezzlement. i have to think the heinous nature of the crime, and fear of what it would say about the program that has always lorded morals over the rest of college football, drove the coverup/inaction.

what's even more incomprehensible is that we don't even know the victim's name from the shower incident. no one who saw it or had knowledge of it seems to have investigated it in any way. so there's a 20 year old man walking around w/ this emotional wound that will never heal, probably feeling more and more victimized the longer the story plays out.

trustees? Probably none. Sounds like it was kept between the good ole boy club of the president, AD and Paterno as well as those who witnessed the acts.

This is one of the most surreal things I've ever seen. What a monumental collapse of a program in such a few short days.
