Looking at the BCS champions, it's the way Tennessee, OSU, LSU (both times), Florida (2006), and Alabama won their national championships. I don't remember the Florida State or Oklahoma teams too well. The 2001 Canes being so damn good in just about every aspect of the game overshadows the fact that Ken Dorsey wasn't exactly the most talented guy out there, either. The 2008 Gators and the 2004 Trojans also got it done defensively, but just had good quarterbacks as well. The only real exceptions I can think of are the 2005 Horns and the 2010 Tigers.

Forgot about that gem. He just threw it up in the air (almost like a punt) to Posey. Luckily for TP, the Purdue DB looked liked he had no idea what the frick was going on and just fell down.

I'm pretty sure there was a group of Purdue guys there. The play probably only worked because none of them were expecting that.

Cam is no smarter. Scheme, Scheme, Scheme.

There may be similarities, but if the teams switched quarterbacks, it's probably OSU celebrating their national title.

Is that real question?

IF it's all about scheme, and Cam is just as dumb and talented as Terrelle, and Cam is getting talked about potentially going number one overall.

The transitive property says that TP should be getting talked about going number one overall.

To be fair, if Luck was going this year, Newton wouldn't really be considered there. But I agree with your point.

Most people don't even think TP will go in the first round, let alone the first few.

And Cam got caught doing more off the field than Pryor. Amazing how different it's turned out. We'd be killing TP if he went through the laptop deal or the cheating thing.

I don't really think Cam would be a good pick, but Pryor should only even be drafted as a receiver or something other than QB, IMO.

Its about production. Cam had a lot more because he was in a scheme that was to his advantage. You put TP on AU last year and theyre just as good, and TP puts up Cam like numbers.

I was shocked with Cam's responses in the Gruden interview. He couldn't even name an audible he called at the line, and had a hard time talking to Gruden about reads and plays. Not sure how any team can draft a QB that lacks knowledge most college QB's should attain.

No way. Not a chance that TP would be able to lead the comeback against Alabama, and I very much doubt they beat LSU. Also, I'm pretty confident in saying he would have blown at least one of Auburn's other close wins.

tressel is osu football.

is this the mentality?

we can't fire him because he is what makes us great?

Personally I disagree... tOSU is the flagship school in a talent rich state and they have a strong football history well before Tressel came there

sounded like Auburn flat out doesn't audible

at least not with a QB who was there less than a year in total... and IMO that's not shocking. At most schools kids get more time to learn the system during their redshirt etc years

No. Woody Hayes is more iconic to Ohio State football. Even without these events, Hayes would always surpass Tressel.

Exactly. That's why I think firing him won't have too big of an effect on our program. It might hurt us for a few seasons, but we'll shall be back to reign supreme.

OSU is still the creme of the crop in the big 10 if Tressel is let go.

1a. OSU
1b. Nebraska
3. Wisconsin
4. Michigan

Hire a competent coach, and he should be able to sustain Tressel's succes.

Not sure what's funny about that.

Michigan clearly wasn't the fourth best team in the big 10 this past season, but I have them fourth based solely on potential.

That list isn't a how they will finish in 2011 list.
