Your feeble minded attempt to translate a Mayweather win from tonight's fight holds no water. You have no clue how Manny would perform against Floyd. Each fight and fighter is different

You don't have a clue what you're talking about

lol so marquez didn't adopt a counterpunching strategy for this fight compared to the previous 2?

The fricking discussion is about the fact Manny has trouble against Marquez. Not his counter attacking strategy. Do you need me to spell that out in Spanish you incomprehensive POS.

Marquez's counterpunching is the reason why he gives Pacquio trouble. Floyd is 100x better counterpuncher then Marquez, and a hell of a lot faster

I'm sure this has degenerated into a Mayweather-Pac thread by now, but I just wanted to say I was really impressed with Marquez. Knew he'd give Manny some trouble, but surprised he did as well as he did.

That said, I had the fight 115-113 in favor of Manny. I don't know why people seem to be bitching about how Marquez got robbed or should have won the fight. I could understand if the judges had given it to Marquez because it was close, but I agree with the decision. No way this should be considered "controversial" in any way.

Controversial because a lot of press row had it for Marquez and other other people for Marquez and that's why the controversy. I had it 115-113 Marquez

Wouldn't be surprised if certain members of the press already had their minds made up that if the fight was a close decision they were going to run with the 'rigged' storyline.

Mayweather will finally take the big fight because he will be convinced from what happened tonight that Manny won't stand a chance against him. And pacman seriously doesn't stand a chance against him.

I completely agree. People like to outrage tho.

Marquez had a couple of key opportunities that he let pass.. Mainly after the headbutt when Manny kept wiping the blood off his eyes and Marquez was backing off.

The final round Marquez could have gone balls 2 walls just to win that and he really didn't.

quote:

Pacquiao was behind on one scorecard and only ahead by a point on a second going into the 12th round, and the crowd was on its feet roaring for what they expected to be a classic last round. But both fighters were tentative, brawling only toward the end of the round, and two judges gave Pacquiao the round while the third gave it to Marquez.

In a fight so close I think that it was anyones to win at the end.

Ringside power punch stat:

Pacquiao 117 Marquez 100

Punches landed:

Pacquiao 176 of 578 punches

I recognize Marquez is a counter puncher and he won some brilliant rounds, but I still never felt he took over the fight and in such a close fight I believe Manny was the winner.

However, Manny was definitely not himself tonight.. even after the fight he even talked differently than normal. It was like he was high. Then he hugs everybody in Marquez's corner. Maybe Manny wanted it this way. Maybe now they will get a fight deal done.

As far as Marquez goes, he was in much better physical shape for this fight than the Floyd fight. And that was a fight among 2 counter punchers in which he was completely outclassed (as he should be.)

I still expect a tremendous fight with Pac/May. No way was Manny ever even geared up for this. He has a certain killer instinct depending upon opponent. Something I would have liked to of seen from Mosley after round 2 (i believe) but Nooo..

It is still going to be a terrific matchup. I just wish tonight's fight could have gone 15 rounds.. It was fun to watch.

We have been saying this for a while.. I actually got laughed at and insulted on this board for saying that Marquez wrote the book on how to beat Pacquiao

Agreed...some of these people on here don't understand the whole "styles make fights" concept. There have been only a handful of us who have tried to explain to these people that Pac is no match for Floyd yet we just get insulted and laughed at.

Hopefully now after Marquez schooled him for 12 rounds last night they'll understand where we've been coming from.

And all you have to do is look at the Mayweather/Marquez fight to see the big difference in speed, strength, defense, etc. between the two.

It's because he knew he got beat. Didn't even celebrate after the bell like he did in the first two fights.

He got schooled again except this time he didn't have the big flurries or knockdowns.

I am wondering where all the "pac is the greatest ever" crowd has went. This fight proves that manny hasnt progressed as a fighter in years. He can't handle accurate counter punchers and it is his downfall as a fighter.

Mayweather will beat him senseless and would do it so one sided it would seem rigged.

I gaurentee that Floyd will now make this fight happen to prove what he has said all along. Manny hasn't beaten anyone of note and Floyd will go down as the greatest of his era.

Are you serious? Manny wanted to dominate this fight due to the closeness of his two previous fight with Marquez. He was definitely motivated for this fight.
