Here is a forwarded text message that I just got, actually not sure who it is from, but...

Fwd:OB has learned that the Pac-10 is prepared to offer invitation to six Big 12 schools, including Texas, to join their conference.

Obviously no source, but just thought I'd throw it out there and see if anybody knew anything.

Texas, TAMU, Colorado, ...?

Who else would make sense? frick Texas Tech, Iowa State, Mizzou, Baylor, Nebraska, Kansas, KSU (for being shitty and/or for their ties to the Big10)

I guess OU and Okie State. Who'd be the 6th?

Kansas would make the most sense for 6th, maybe Neraska. TT or Baylor only if Texas and A&M turned them down. I can't see 6 from the Big 12 all going, maybe they are looking at 6 and going after 2-4?

The Pac 10 will definitely need at least one new team after USC gets the DEATH PENALTY tomorrow.

CU is the only Big-12 team that makes any cultural sense at all

The six teams per Orangebloods are: Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Colorado

I think UT fits culturally, A&M really doesn't, they'd fit better in the SEC.

more than the others, but Texas would be dumb to get anywhere near the Pac-10 and their horrid contracts

A&M-Berkley would be interesting dynamic to see to say the least

well I'd imagine the whole point of expanding and adding Texas teams would be to get better TV contracts.

For too long the Pac 10 has had horrendous TV deals and bowl ties, beyond the BCS/Rose of course.

Oh definitely. I could really see Berkeley coming to Austin, Texas to play a team with an 800 pound longhorn going off without a hitch.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make, but I'd bet Cal has played a team with a live animal mascot before, and they do, after all still field a football team.

The University of Texas, academically and culturally fits in better with the Pac 10 or Big 10 than the SEC.

Man, that would be freaking awesome. Would love to be in the same conference as UT, OU and A&M.

Big 12
When taking into account athletics, academics, money, power, control over the conference, etc, it really is more like Texas & the 11 Dwarves and that's not much of a Conference.

You know Stanford's band would have an extra special half time show for hat game.
