Came across on Twitter that Enes Kanter is a part of Outkick now and one of the tweets says that Kanter was blackballed by the NBA for speaking out against human rights violations.

Which maybe true, but also Kanter wasn't exactly playing great basketball the last time he was in the NBA. Idk, I just find it funny that Clay Travis is screaming "blackballed" for one of his employees, but still makes sure to point out to this day that Kaepernick wasn't blackballed, he just sucked and no one wanted to take on a backup QB with that baggage (which is also true, at least I believe that to be true).

It's like Clay is not even trying to hide the hypocrisy anymore and just playing the hits because he knows his fanbase and knows they will click on that.

Long arse post, but I'm just wondering if anyone takes Clay seriously anymore?

Clay's words read like a parody. I don't think he even believes what he says. That being said, it sells

Seems like Clay has you right where he wants you.

He's running the biggest grift I've ever seen. He turned a "keep politics out of sports" platform into a political/sports career that he is making bank on.

I can't hate him for the shrewd business move to gather as many sheep as possible.

Huh?

I'd think he'd want me subscribed to outkick and listening to his radio show. Maybe this thread gets more people to do that, but I really don't care if it does or not, good for him if it does.

There's a slight difference though.

Kaep was going to be a backup with tons of baggage which would make him unpopular with lots of the fanbase. Kanter would potentially be a backup that would be unpopular with China. No fans were upset with his human rights stances.

Wasn’t Kanter like the worst post defender in the entire NBA according to analytics?

If he was good, I promise you some team would sign him. Same with Kaepernick in the NFL.

He was also a registered democrat, worked on Al Gore's campaign, and has never voted for a republican president in his life.

Yet his entire persona is a right wing political/sports commentator.

He's a fraud.

Exactly what Trump did. These guys realize if you just tell idiots on the right the dumb shite they want to hear, they will form a cult like following devoted to you and make you rich, or President.

Works both ways. I’m sure you believe every stupid thing Democrats spew out as well. Both parties have their fill of far right and left morons

His last full season was the 20-21 season. He played in 72 games and was 18th in the league in Win Shares and 22nd in PER.

Then last year he was ok for half a season, got traded and then cut.

I don't see how his situation is at all comparable to Kaepernick's.

Politics and pro sports are one and the same and have been. That said Enes Kanter has a 500K dollar bounty on his head. Turkey apparently doesn't appreciate free speech as much as this country. Playing basketball may not be a priority right now with this guy.
