Other star players who made their exits awkward

Similar to what’s going on with AD and the Pelicans.
I’m a Magic fan, so the whole Dwight Howard and SVG ending, along with the trade demands and that whole process was exhausting and extremely awkward.
What are some other examples in other sports as well?

Not a player-made example but the Clippers made things pretty awkward with the Griffin trade to Detroit.

Clippers ship him off to Detroit 6months later
quote:
When Griffin arrived at Staples Center for his free-agency pitch meeting on July 1, he found the Clippers had erected something of a maze for him with temporary walls. Griffin walked his 3-year-old son, Ford, through the art gallery-style corridors, and found photos hanging at each turn: Griffin on his green Huffy bike with his brother, Taylor, when they were kids; Griffin playing in college; Griffin as a Clipper. The maze spit Griffin out onto a couch overlooking the Staples Center court, above the lower bowl. Crowd noise pumped in. The team’s public address announcer declared the Clippers were retiring Griffin’s number. Team employees raised an actual banner into the rafters — a vision of the future they wanted.

LeBron hosting an hour and a half TV special to simultaneously suck his own dick and shite on his hometown.. must have been pretty awkward for Cavs fans

LeBron isn't from Cleveland. He's from Akron.

It’d be like Dirk being from Cleburne. Close enough

Dwight Howard is the biggest douche in the history of sports, and that includes Rae Carruth.

I don't think this compared to those others. Most can't really blame AD. Blame the ownership, fo, coaching etc

That's disgusting.

No it would be like being from Fort Worth. Nobody from FW would claim Dallas as their hometown.

I know LeBron isn’t actually from Cleveland but Akron is close enough to consider him home grown. However you look at it, Bron took a dump on them in front of 13 million viewers

I remember Marcus Allen feuding with the Raiders and then going to their mortal enemy and scoring like 609 touchdowns.
