I think that sums it up. Any other position coach would likely be sent on his way. If not outright fired, certainly not renew his contract annually.

Does a wife accepting physical abuse make it acceptable to keep the person employed in a rather public position?

I suppose that's up to the institution. It's their decision. Let's not, as LSU fans, pretend like we care about OSU's reputation or go full SJW and take the step of saying the wife was victimized by the OSU institution.

For my part, I would say it's a line we don't want to cross as a society. Is there that big a difference between public and private when the person isn't vested with huge power over others? If the government shouldn't employ somebody because of their morals, why should Exxon? Why should McDonalds? It's a regression that only ends with unemployment/welfare or crime/jail. As a society, we want the non-imprisoned bottom of society to work, regardless of how immoral they are in their non-work life. I see no societal benefit in marrying personal virtue to labor participation.

Of course, we want to minimize the anti-social behavior at the bottom of society, but it just isn't intuitive that unemployment is a logical remedy to that. The opposite is far more logical. That gainful employment is a mitigator of violent or anti-social impulse. Not that it enables it.

Not going to be suspended from my connection at tOSU. After the 14-day window Urban will be coaching the team.

Nope. I also wouldn't fire someone over wife gossip and vague text messages.

So you just don’t have a sack. Got it.

Google MFR. Ain’t nobody your damn secretary. You just want to be obtuse because you know they are going to cover everything up. But deep down you know Urban has a history of “looking the other way” and is a shite heel for doing it.

Were the Baylor rape victims not victimized by the institution? Penn state? MSU? Olympics team? I’m not a SJW by any stretch but a cover up does cause a victim. When a system, whether you agree with it or not, is set in place to protect you and they turn a blind eye that is not acceptable.

Not surprised if true. Wonder how many more sponsors OSU and specifically urban will lose.

Baylor/MSU had to do with students, and I hope in no way are you equating one coach having potential (unproven as of today) domestic violence issues with his wife with known rapists.

The Olympics thing is again a sexual harassment type thing.

The police investigated every instance. This isn't some cover up where no one knew until the news broke.

So obviously the investigation is a farce if they already know he's not going anywhere.

They're going to catch flak if they keep him regardless of how long the investigation lasts. Why continue with the dog and pony show if you're done investigating and he's good?

If they don't release the report from the investigation til mid August, it will make the appearance that they did all the work.

It could be a lot of getting ducks in a row, but initial impressions are he's good. They should realize the decision either way will be heavily scrutinized, so make sure everything is done right the first time

Winning cures everything, my baw. tOSU and Urban's brands are strong enough to withstand the short-term public reaction once the season starts and Urban has an established rep for being permissive with players and coaches with sketchy backgrounds so this isn't some groundbreaking occurrence, not defending anything just telling it like it is.

I think Urban is looking at a Colorado level punishment which is essentially a slap on the wrist.

If the allegations never made it to HR/Title IX coordinator, they're going to have to explain who tried to handle it themselves. That may or may not involve Urban.

That’s entirely possible and might be sufficient to placate the immediate albeit short-term public reaction

I agree with you. It’s the reason he can have guys like Wilson and Schiano on his staff without hardly any flack. However, it’s not surprising neither one of those guys is the current interim coach at this time. Trying to avoid more flack at this time.

Explain how you concluded that ignoring the gossip of women equals "you just don't have a sack."

Maybe the texts of a group of chatty women run your life, but that doesn't apply to most men.

Pussy.

He might not even be looking at that.

There's some question as to whether the melting over him lying to the media even has legs.
