Ohio State head coach Ryan Day is set to receive a three-year contract extension and a hefty pay raise, pending approval from OSU's Board of Trustees. Day, 40, still had four years remaining on his original contract, which was signed in December of 2018. The new deal will keep him with the Buckeyes through the 2026 season and will pay him as much as $7.6 million per year.
Day's original contract paid him $4.5 million per season and he will be making that salary until June 30 of this year. Starting July 1, 2020, his salary will bump up to $6 million, and he will also receive a $1 million contribution to his retirement plan on Dec. 31, 2020. On Feb. 1, 2021, Day's salary will increase to $6.5 million. In 2022, it will jump to $7.6 million. Any salary increases after that must be approved by the athletic director (currently Gene Smith) and the Board of Trustees.

I know he produced last season but giving a coach that kind of money with no history of sustaining success is crazy.

Lol any coach worth a hot shite can get you 10 wins a year at Ohio State.
The only conference with a bigger gap in talent between the number one and two teams is the ACC.

Who was going to hire him away?

Day had a good season with Urban’s players.

He's a great offensive mind. As long as recruiting doesn't slip too much and he has competent defensive players and coordinators, they will stomp the conference.

This nerd is about to wreck Urban’s legacy

Sounds like he jumped on Urban’s coattails at the perfect time.

You think I give a single flying frick what you jackasses have to say on here?
I just pointed out you guys use that gif of Day as he was pissed or something, which is just not true

He’s going to come out of nowhere and be equally as successful at OSU as Urban was.
Without Tebow, Urban isn’t anywhere near GOAT status.

He won a national title with Chris Leak and then one with the 3rd string quarterback.
I somewhat get the Meyer hate, but lets not be dumb about it.
