Oregon and Washington have been told by @bigten that it is standing pat for now.

So if ND says no, are WA and OR screwed?

Reading where USC may not want them to come along due to recruiting competition

USC has already applied and been accepted. The B1G/FOX do not care what USC prefers here.

If ND says yes, then who is the 18th team? I don't think they would leave it at 17 teams

I would imagine the BIG is pretty armament on getting Oregon. If they don’t, you leave them open to the SEC entering your footprint. Same reason why SEC needs to be adamant on getting FSU and Clemson

Not that they add to what you have, but the keep your opponent from adding to what they have

The B1G will not be taking Clemson or FSU. The could move on UNC, UVA and GA Tech though.

If they were smart they would. But they need their fake AAU status. And FSU and Clemson don’t rape enough I suppose

Getting Oregon and Washington would be the biggest gets for the SEC. If they could pull that off it would be massive

That's where the money is for the SEC/ESPN. Move into FOX territory and raid them before the B1G does.

Oregon, Washington, Colorado and Arizona becomes the West Wing of the SEC.

If ND says yes, then I think they're headed to 20 teams. OR, WA and who knows who the 20th would be.

Oregon (and to a lesser extent Washington) have been poaching SoCal recruits for a decade or more now and SC and UCLA are probably sick of it and don't want those two talent leeching schools anywhere near their shiny new power league.

I'd you stop the SoCal recruting, Oregon will basically die as an upper program in football.

I wonder if ND would request it be Stanford?

They suck in football so they don't matter.

Those seem like obvious choices assuming we have crazy expansion

In spite of their relevance over the last 20 odd years I don't know if adding the Clemson, FSU, or Miami programs makes sense. They don't add new states.

I guess theoretically you could add Kansas and Colorado assuming GOR type issues didn't make that less of an option. Sixteen seems like more than enough. I don't like the expansion options

SEC said the same thing in 2011, then A&M was in within a week or 2. Not saying they will or won’t go to the B1G, but this means nothing.
