The Mets have designated right-hander Jordan Yamamoto for assignment in order to open a spot on the roster for left-hander Chasen Shreve, whose contract has been selected to the 40-man roster, per the team’s transaction log at MLB.com. Shreve told reporters earlier this week that he’d been informed he’s made the roster.
Really thought this kid would become a solid pitcher after a decent rookie season. Still only 25 so plenty of time.

The Minnesota-San Diego trade, per sources:
Twins get right-handed starter Chris Paddack and right-handed reliever Emilio Pagan
Padres get left-handed reliever Taylor Rogers and outfielder Brent Rooker.
Money and a PTBNL possibly involved, too.
Opening Day deal! Love it.

Gonna need my Texas Rangers to get decent again. The pitching is still light years off, but Leiter will come up in a year or so. I think they can sneakily make the Wild Card, but we will see. The pitching could be detrimental still this year. Just happy the Rangers finally spent some money, and looking forward to the lineup this year.

Pirates and Hayes sign an 8 year deal worth $70 which is somehow the largest deal they've ever given out
