Can't imagine the NBA will take it lightly when the comments are about a legend like magic.

How this guy became a mouthpiece for any group of people I'll never understand...

According to Deadspin the LA chapter of the NAACP was scheduled to give sterling a lifetime achievement award in about 3 weeks.

That just goes to show you... the NAACP are racist lovers.

If I had to guess I'd say Sterling bought an award to help his public profile. Greased a few palms, started a scholarship or 2, then BAM he gets an award.
Especially since this was the local chapter of the NAACP.

the NBA must be careful in acting quickly and removing Sterling as an owner based on a recorded conversation.
Why, if it's determined to be him on the recording?

I am curious to see how the NBA can remove him. Can they just buy him out? How is the valuation determined?
The only thing I can remember being even close to this is Schott's suspension from MLB for one year.

If he wasnt removed after the Massamino, Baylor/Manning, HUD, and the comments to J Hill I dont see how this gets it done

MLB also pretty much forced McCourt to sell the Dodgers. Though I doubt Silver has as much power, legally speaking, or influence, getting the other owners on his side, as Selig does.

It took them forever to get rid of Shinn. Obviously not a comparable situation, but it's not easy.

Social media and twitter activism.

Shinn and McCourt were based on financial reasons though. This is totally different.

Silver is in a very tricky situation. I'm sure he's gonna have a long talk with the NBA legal team and figure out what his options for Sterling are.
