It is great that USC is out of the limelight and is very average

The bottom will drop out when their players realize they aren't playing for anything anymore.
If they don't realize that already.

It's good to see the Pac-10 being more competitive, but I don't really care what USC is doing.

It will only get worse. Next year will be extremely nasty.

I was much more upset out SC's play last year than I am this year. Last year should not have been a rebuilding year. Anyone looking at the roster saw that this was the true rebuilding year and the team would be average. Toss in a bowl ban and the NCAA version of free agency and it was pretty predictable.

SC will be much better next year than this year. All of SC's best players are underclassmen. It's going to be in 3 or 4 years that the bottom will fall out

I actually loved watching USC play when they were on their game and it would have been incredible watching Saban match wits with Carroll if the two schools had agreed to the proposed matchup in Jerry World. So I'm actually sort of sad about their demise.

I've seen them play twice this year. Their offense is still very good. But the defense might be the worst USC defense in 20 years.

This is really hard to believe as an outsider
Roster depth is going to plummet and when there are injuries walk ons will be playing important roles

false
USC is already down in the high 60s in terms of schollies and can take a full set of early enrollments, which don't count against the scholarship limits. If the appeal isn't ruled on by signing day, USC can then take a full class. If not, they can still take up to 15
Almost all of the impact players on USC's team right now are young. It's going to take a few years for USC to be really crushed by the penalties

What?
early enrollments don't count? You mean only for this year I assume? Doesn't seem rational for the NCAA to allow that large of a loophole

early enrollments do not count against the 15 scholarship limit for 2011. They count back against 2010

but USC took 20 players in 2010 right?
so the most they could possibly take would be 5 more right?
that cushions the blow but aren't they already down to 60 odd scholarship players? Plus you'd think some guys will jump to the NFL early if they possibly can (to avoid rookie salary cap and get the last possible big payday)
