Good start today for the US. I thought they played strong in the first and even better in the second. The Swiss seemed more interested in hitting (legally or illegally--how was that not boarding on Ryan right before his goal?) and kept turning the puck over in their zone. The good teams won't do that.
Still, and good start, and a nice +2 in the goal differential column. We need to pad that against Norway!

Good start by the U.S. The Swiss team is decent and it's always nice to start with a W. They should have their way with Norway. Russia's group is the most interesting IMO. The combo of games between Russia, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia should be excellent. Finland/Sweden is arguably the best game of the preliminary rounds, although I've got more interest in U.S./Canada (as I'm sure most others do). I'm having a hard time figuring out how NBC is skimping on coverage; especially U.S./Canada. You don't relegate that game to a secondary channel. They're the only major network that covers hockey, and they're not doing a very good job of promoting it.

The Canadians didn't seem to cheer for the US Men's opponent today, so I'd say the "fear" thing might be correct. They probably do (and should) fear our women's team more than the men.
