the way the Czechs and Slovakia have played, Russia could be in trouble against Canada.. the US group has looked very strong today..

It looks good from my perspective...going to hurt it severely if the NHL doesn't allow it's players to play in 2014 IMO even tho I understand their reason

That would be awful. The NHL gains popularity during this time, IMO

Satan shoots, Satan scores. 4-3 Slovaks.

The Norwegian goalie needs to come out of his net just a little. He was practically behind the goal line.

What a tournament. The remaining games are going to be incredible. It's going to be interesting to see how the teams that played today are able to bounce back. 3 of the 4 went through hell to advance and I'm not sure what Jagr's status is for the Czech's. Hopefully the U.S. will use the qualifying games as motivation to come out on top of their game b/c it's obvious that no team is safe in this tournament.

I expect the U.S., Sweden, and Finland to advance. I was high on Slovakia and the Czech Republic, but they both kind of disappointed today and they're facing fresh and talented opponents. I think the Czech's have the best chance of winning out of those two, but I can't see it happening without Jagr. As far as Russia/Canada, I really have no idea. I think Canada has the slight edge, but I sure as hell wouldn't put any money on it. I think this may have been the rare case where an extra game could benefit them. Even though they were playing a weaker team, they needed some confidence after back to back disappointing outcomes. And the home crowd should give them enough adrenaline to overcome any fatigue. Whoever wins may have some issues in the next game; it's going to be brutal both physically and emotionally.

I still can't believe either Canada or Russia isn't going to medal. Crazy.
