This is getting very interesting. According to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, Oklahoma and Texas are not expected to be a part of the Big 12’s meeting on Thursday night...

Aggies will kill Texas right now. They had a good decade of building mid tier program. Texas is not a mid trier sec program. Sure they can play LSU kinda close for a game, but the meat grinder of the current sec will be bad for them.

I don’t think anyone is saying they won’t be in 21.

Let’s not forget. The only thing worse than UT fans are OU fans. Being affiliated with these clowns is not going to be fun. They’re so full of themselves and think they are their schools and athletic programs are so superior to everyone else. Very condescending.

This seems so weird. Please tell me we’d eliminate the ridiculous conference championship game if this happens as some small manner of consolation.

So if the SEC adds Texas and OU, every team in in the Conference will now play less than half the Conference?

with annual 4 rent-a-wins scheduled by the SEC, add 7 Conference teams and one real OOC and that's a full slate.

God I miss the Pac round-robin format where the Champ was unequivocal.

Schedules are now so disparate and nobody calls out the SEC offices.

It’s so obvious that they are using the allure of joining the SEC to get what the frick they want from the shite 12

Eight teams is now less than half of 16?

When did the conference schedule drop from playing 8 games to playing 7?

Just saying. A lot of the SEC fans in states east of Louisiana do not mingle with these people as much. They’re bad.

As an OU fan living in Louisiana and married into an LSU family, I think I have some good perspective on this. OU is obviously my preferred school, but I’ll cheer for LSU when we aren’t playing and have a hell of a good time every time I’m in BR for a game.

First, I heard nothing but positives from both sides when OU has played Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama in the last 10 years. Nothing but good football games and good fans on both sides.

Second, a lot of the hostility from OU fans to LSU fans was born out of the championship game in 2004. I know this board doesn’t want to hear this sometimes, but the LSU fans during that game were hostile and it rubbed OU fans the wrong way (even if the OU fans were a bit thin skinned).

This last national championship game did a lot to erase the hate from OU fans toward LSU fans. You absolutely kicked our arse, which probably took the edge off both fan bases.

I’m looking forward to playing SEC teams and interacting with their fans on a weekly basis. I think you’ll come around too.
