Such sad news. And to happen again to OSU 10 years later is just unimaginable.

Prayers to the families.

Hell as much money these schools make and big booster donations I figured they'd fly in bigger planes. I'd never fly in a small plane, plus with all the wind in this area, don't know about Arkansas but there's strong winds in MO,OK,KS.

I feel awful for the 3 kids this coach had. These coaches do, especially the smaller sports, coach because of the love of the game and what a terrible way to go. Don't wish this upon anyone or anyone's family. I can't imagine the last few seconds as the plane went down. Terrible news.

Unbelievable that this happened again to that university community. Simply tragic. Prayers sent.

From what I am getting from the locals, the plane went down around Iron horse Water Shed and not on Thornburg Mtn as has been reported by some in Perry County Arkansas. That's about 2 or 3 miles from my mothers house. I've drove all through that area. Nothing but forest. There is no where to try and land a stalled out plane in that area.

My thoughts are with the families of the people on board.

I am going to my mothers thanksgiving. I will probably go check out this crash site.

Why do we need a reminder of that?

Sorry, but as a private pilot I know that practice is not a risk anymore than driving down the highway.

They had a solo flying 82 year old pilot, that was the risk.

I just read that about hte 82 year old pilot. crazy!

The pilot, 82-year-old former Oklahoma state Sen. Olin Branstetter, and his 79-year-old wife, Paula, also died when the plane sputtered, spiraled out of control and nosedived into the forest.

NEVER thought I would be showing this pic again this year. I hope they never go through this again, nor any other Athletic Department.
