Didn't realize this was so rare. Guess it makes sense just figured it had been done more often

The home run cycle was completed by Danielle Gibson of Arkansas back in February, making her only the second known college softball player to ever do it.

Add it all up and what you have from Borer is something just about as rare as it gets in baseball history. Hitting for a home run cycle is so rare that when Tyrone Horne did it for the Double-A Arkansas Travelers in 1998, his bat ended up in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

I actually figured the opposite. This seems so rare that I'm surprised it has happened multiple times. There are so many more variables involved than the normal cycle. It's difficult to get pitched to after you hit 3 homeruns in a game.

Hitting 4 homers is hard enough but to do it with the bases full, 2 on etc makes it rare just to get the opportunity

He is getting jack shite to swing at after two homeruns if they knew how to pitch.

Cool stat, but theres nothing the batter is doing differently or better than hitting 4 HRs.

Just as the cycle is cool, but 4 HRs are better.

I played HS baseball at the same time former LSU player and EDW High School player Jonathan Zeringue did. He hit two grandslams in the first inning of a game and his third time up with the bases loaded in that inning hit a triple about 1 foot from going out as well. 3 for 3 with 11 RBI's in the first lol

I don't know how well the batters after him we're doing but I probably would have walked him after the 2nd or 3rd homer.
