I see this almost every weekend and it just happened in the egg bowl.

Guy dives for pileon and appears to get in… ref marks him out at the 1 yd line.

Replay shows to me that he scored a td but if that’s not conclusive I get it. However it’s definitely conclusive if he didn’t get in he’s out at the 1” line not the 1 yd line. Then they come out of replay and say it stands. Maybe it should stand that he didn’t score but the spot was obviously wrong. Why don’t they change it?

Exactly. If it wasn’t a touchdown then the ball was literally a football length from the goaline, not the 1 yard line

That is a good point that is never addressed. Ball should move up.

Fairly certain there's a rule that says a spot can't be reviewed unless it's for a first down or touchdown.

Makes sense to only rule if it’s for a first down or touchdown, but I agree, once a review is initiated, the review should be used to cover every aspect that can be seen in that particular part of the play. I’ve been saying this for a while with penalties. I’m fine with penalties not being reviewable by themselves, but if a play is under review for something else and there was an irrefutable missed call shown in the replay clip, it should also be corrected. The Goedert fumble play from the eagles game last week is a perfect example. Play goes to review for the fumble, the no call face mask was irrefutable on replay, but by rule they didn’t change it. They need to incorporate that going forward. That was a game deciding play and it happens often enough to matter.

This. The concept of anything being “unreviewable” is infuriating.

Think what can be reviewed is whether the ball reached the lines to gain or not.

In last night’s game they said it did not, so they reverted back to original spot.

You are right. This happens all the time. Not just with pylon plays. It’s clear that the ball should be practically on the goal line and they place it at the one.
