I just left for today but the crowd waiting for Bubba to tee off just now was huge.
Very nice turnout for the Zurich so far.

Toms finished strong, made it to -4. According to an earlier report, he lipped out 4 to 5 times today or he could be in the top 10.

Nice. I hope people are leaving him alone so he can enjoy it.

We sat at the 5th tee just to see buhba bomb the driver. Huge crowd following him. Every other hole on the course was a ghost town.

I was there on #1 watching from about 275 down the fairway. His ball landed past me on the fly and rolled much farther. I walked it off from the 100 marker on the cart path and it was over 310. Just an average drive for Bubba. Worth the trip just to see that.
I also saw him hit a spectator on the head on #2 and end up in the middle of the fairway. I was about 40 yards away from where it landed. He signed a glove for the guy.
On #3 I was watching greenside right beside his mom and sister (I guess - sort of looked a bit like him).
That's all the cool stories I have for today.

They mentioned this on the Golf Channel broadcast. Said the guy was bleeding from his head but he was ok. Someone from the tv broadcast must have talked to the guy after and the guy said something like he was there to see Bubba but never expected to be hit by his ball.
Actually saw the same thing happen on 6 yesterday with Toms. He hit his tee shot right and it blasted some guy in the shoulder blade and landed back in the fairway. No way he would have made par on that hole without the favorable plunk. Same thing...signed a glove for the guy. Looked like it hurt like a mutha.

Bubba just birdied 17 to make the cut at -2. Clutch!
I bet the tourney organizers and sponsors are happy about this.

Fixed...
He made a par on 18... Either way clutch!

I looked at the round 1 scorecard
He birdied 18 yesterday. Too much sun out there for my brain to function right now.

I was near the 2nd tee, and I saw Bubba's ball going towards the crowd. Then, all of a sudden it flies directly left into the middle of the fairway. I never saw the guy's head, but that ball hit him square.
Stricker really had it going for the first 11 holes, then a bad tee shot on 12 cost him a shot. At 15, it looked like his caddie didn't tell him about a little pot fairway bunker because he bent down and picked up his tee, then when his ball splashed in the sand, both he and his caddie pulled out their books, and Stricker got a little hot.
Good to see some good names towards the top of the leaderboard.

The played 3somes last year on the weekend as well because of impending bad weather.

Pretty close. Drive was 309. A guy next to me asked the shot links guy as we were walking to the green.
