There are some crappy names in the quarters this year.

At least Fed/Tsonga will be a good one to watch.

Everything else looks like crap. I don't expect too much from Mardy Fish unless Nadal's "injury" tightens up.

Fish going to play his way past Nadal, and give Murray a chance at the finals.

Fish has the kind of game to bother Nadal if he plays well (big server, two handed backhand). He's got a small chance at pulling the upset

Im kind of excited to watch Tomic play Djokovic, hes pretty steady and moves well for being 6'4.

They hit together a couple of times the last week or two so maybe hes got a good read on the Serbs ball.

I can't watch but just saw this posted on a different forum:

Nadal says that the foot still hurts. He thought of retiring in set 1. But the pain went down a little with the tape, and he tried to continue.

Says that he needs to check with the doctor tomorrow, because he's worried about the bone of the foot.

Was it you who posted the Rafa quote about being worn out from the 24/7 nature of tennis? Part of me is worried he’s gonna pull a Borg on us! Hopefully Federer’s number keeps him motivated.

Yeah, that was me. I thought it was more concerning during the French because he looked off there. He's looked much better so far at Wimbledon. I caught a few minutes of the 4th set today during lunch. He looked really good. I fully expect him to win this tourney if his ankle isn't too fricked up

Apparently Nadal thought he broke his foot and played the entire match in pain. Says he still thinks it might be fractured and will have an MRI. Sounds like there's a chance he might have to withdraw

So you're saying there IS a chance for Fish.

I hope he didn't watch the match today.

Nadal is a beast and he only withdraws if it's something that can get worse with play. If it's just pain, he'll win this tournament. He should sit out the hardcourt season if he's injured, but he shouldn't give up on this title.

Question for those who know more about tennis than me. With all the problems Maria has with her serve, why don't they shorten her ball toss? She throws it about 20 feet up there. It seems like the shorter the toss, the less margin for error.

It's not easy to change something like that. She probably could have tried to do it after her injury, but she was probably just more focused n getting back on the court.

JMDP put up a good fight, too bad he didn't have a higher seeding but I expect him to have another great summer.

Tomic continues his impressive run. Kubot could have also made it to the next round; I wonder if he had a MP in that third set TB.

Nadal Vs Fish most intriguing match-up of the quarters

"I don't know what the problem is, I will get it checked out. I'm worried for sure," he said.

"At one moment at the end of the first set I thought I might have to retire.

"To hit my forehand was very tough. I felt something really strange when it was at 6-5 in the first set when I called to the trainer. I pushed hard with a forehand and I just felt something crush in the back of the foot. I didn't know what went on.

"I changed the position of the foot so I was able to continue but with pain."

Apparently there's some concern among the Spanish press that it's a stress fracture, which would make sense given how the injury occured and that he was able to play through it. Bad news if true though, as he'd definitely have to withdraw

Nadal in 3 is probably the most likely outcome, but I don't know how easy it will be. Fish has been serving great. I think he's only faced like 7 break points the entire tournament

damn, that would suck if he had to withdraw
Fish should send him a thank you card for the 300k bump.

ETA: MRI is tomorrow so I guess well get an answer, read where he said he felt something "crunch"

doesnt sound too good
