I asked the lead agronomist for the USGA what they'd think about a Monday playoff. He said he was excited about possibility.

Women practice rounds go off in the morning split tees and the men's would go off later afternoon for prime time TV coverage finish.

Not sure if that's still the plan.

Golf Channel is trying to force stories right now.

Very possible

Kaymer has just been very consistent

I see him shooting 70-71 today

All depends on the wind and the course

his oakmont 63 is still better than a pinehurst 62 ...

and he would be the first and last person to point that out ..

The link is to an article with the pin locations for today's 4th round. The article says they aren't as tough as yesterday's round, but they look pretty damn tough to me.

Those pins are definitely more accessible and they moved the tees up on 3 and 13 to make those about 285-300 yard holes.

Probably see alot of eagle chances on 5 and 10 so there are opportunities for some roars. Hopefully it pans out unlike Sunday at the Masters this year.

There's a video w/Mike Davis on the USGA website on today's course setup. He must have read your post.

They're changing things around hoping the tourney is not a blowout.

Yeah I just watched that. I'll be interested to see how 3 plays with that pin on the left and he said the tee is up and to the right.

I'm sure at least for Kaymer it will be mid iron and then wedge 25 ft right of the hole.

Edit: Looks like 5 birdies on 3 so far with about 21 players on the course.

With that course setup and Kaymer with a 5 shot lead, I think it's a long, boring afternoon for NBC. For the Miller critics, they can rejoice. They won't have him to beat up anymore.

I think this the 5th consecutive day I've seen Phil in white pants and a black shirt.
