Well so much for Kaymer to continue to fall
Posted on 6/14/14 at 3:34 pm to Bunk Moreland
He just really doesn't seem like the kind of guy to melt mid round

Yeah. I guess, then, by US Open standards, this course was a great test.
Mean, unforgiving, problematic course that's gonna eviscerate your soul once you're distanced from the lead.
Has to be frustrating if you went in genuinely positive, and looking to domintate. Kaymer did, and may end up losing. Gotta be tough.

This reminds me of Shinnecock and Bethpage. Not many birdies, and its the player who makes the least mistakes. Pavin at Shinnecock, and Goosen at was it Bethpage or some other course where they had to water the greens during play. fricking Kaymer eagles. I thought the layout Open at S.Fran., that Simpson won was a good fair test. I like to see the short knockers have a chance.

Did the Pinhurst people really think these waste areas were going to slow down these pros? If this was real USGA rough, the players would be in deep trouble. As it is, they hit the greens regularly after missing the fairway.

Goosen was at Shinnecock in 04. eldrick shot -3 at Bethpage and was the only guy under par. I like the comparison with this course to shinnecock.

Putting it off the green after Todd left it way short. Kaymer made bogey and so did Todd.

Kaymer putted way past the hole and off the green. Then putted again from off the green. Tapped in to save bogey.
