He should have won the cy young in 2009 I think. It was back when 20 wins was still a huge deal and the bullpen blew a save in maybe his last start of the season and he finished with 19 wins.

CC’s year did him no favors. 17-4 record with a 2.24 ERA. 3CG and 1 SHO. Only 7HRs in 192 IP. Sucks when teammates steal votes from each other.

Martinez was fantastic last year why is he not a starter this year? Because of Paul?

JMart has taken quality ABs. Hilarious he’s not getting looks in RF. He’s a better hitter than most of these frickers.

Martinez is a HUGE defensive liabilty. Although I sure would have played him today.

He'd be a great DH.

Dexter fricking fowler ladies and gentleman.

There was a buzz, a momentum shift, we had seen misplays before in huge spots that propelled us on to win. This was another signature cardinal moment that would go down in the annals of time. This moment would live for Cardinals nation foreve...

frickING FOWLER GOD DAMN'T I CAN"T EVEN FINISH WRITING MY CARDINALS LORE BEFORE YOU frick THIS UP FOR US

Probably choked on something like his Braves, Falcons and Bulldogs.

Then you offset that with Bader in CF and Edman at 3rd. JMart is no worse in RF than Marp and his rag arm, stone feet, and little league bat at 3rd.

Wainwright has around 160 wins. He’s not under contract after this year.

He can't be that much worse in the OF vs what he gives with the bat

2014 Tigers also had Price in the rotation. And they somehow didn’t even win a playoff series.

Oh I agree. That's exactly what I would have done.

And you're right, you'd have upgraded defense at CF and 3rd and wouldn't lose much D bencing Fowler.

I think he’s a LSU/Braves/Celtics/Canadians/Saints fan.

No. He's serviceable in RF. But the main reason for the Cards worst to first defensive showing this year was replacing Martinez at 1st with Goldschmidt.

Helsley looks like the closer of the future. No drama playoff innings is no small feat against the Braves and Nats.

I’m still hoping they try him in the rotation
