I bet St. James and St. Charles are really hoping they stick in 3A and don't get stuck in 2A again with Curtis and Evangel.

David Comeaux is the TE coach at stm but he has been there for 3 seasons

STM has terry tidwell at DC with 30 years in the system but he has never been a HC and I doubt he wants to be one now

They also have David Leblanc as OL/strength coach with 10+ years at STM

Shane Savoie is the OC with about 7 years in the program and he is an alumnus

Frankly my bet would be to open the job up and find an outsider when Hightower retires. That may be the only way they keep the staff together. Promoting one guy on the staff over the others would be tough.

STM would get applicants for HC from all over the country. The new principal is an outsider and she came from Ohio iirc

But barring health concerms hightower isnt going anywhere any time soon especially with all of the talent coming back

They dont split the classes evenly

They fill out 1A with districts and travel concerns
Then 2A
Then 3A
Then 4A
Then 5A gets what is left
Classifying from the bottom up was changed a few years ago. They used to go 5A down but that is not the case any more

Gosh, i didnt know my Alma Mater (Redemptorist) had fallen in enrollment so bad..

the creation of the central school district and zachary breaking away from EBR killed us.

Shoot when i was there we were 3A in 01-03, 4A in 04, and back down to 3A when i graduated in 05.

03' was THE best year in athletics at RHS

When my mom and uncles were at RHS, they were 2A, but back then (80's) we didnt have 5A yet.

From what I have heard for 5A in Metro BR, one district would be McKinley, Woodlawn, CHS-BR., St Amant, EA, and Dutchtown. The other being Central, Zachary, Scotlandville, Live Oak, Denham, and Walker.

Thats good to hear. EA and STA were always in the BR district and that just makes more sense. EA moved around like 3 times when I was there.

Frosh year we were 5A with STA, catholic, woodlawn, etc. Soph year we were 4A with plaquemine, redemptorist, capitol, etc. Same thing junior year. Senior year we were 4A with lee high, McKinley, st. Michael, Tara, and broadmoor. Then they we to this river rat district.

Yea tidwell doesnt want to deal with all the BS but i think if he ever did want to make the switch to HC we would have to look no further than Desmond Beckwith, the DB coach. He knows defense up and down and was a stud at ULM.

If S Savoie is still coaching or even gets considered for the HC job it would be a severe joke. His piss poor play calling is only saved by the immense amount of hardworking athletes on the field.. he also gets a little too involved in the student body and runs his mouth a good bit. He is not liked by parents and coaches a like. No idea how he landed that job. Makes you realize Tim Leger wasnt so bad.

STM needs to go out of house to hire a HC.
David leblanc would run vear, iso, power every play. Strother would run 5 wide about every play. Not one coach on the team should be moved up besides maybe tidwell.. but the HC position is basically a secretary for all the coaches and doesnt do much football i dont know why anyone would want it.

Go cougars!!! Football Class of 06!

Beckwith will probably replace TT as OC when he retires

Yea, he was my position coach and its actually kind of amazing there is someone with this much football knowledge in such a small role. Though, he does take part in basically all of the defensive scheming and acts as sort of tidwells sounding board. This guy knows his stuff... and is a scary MOFO also.

I always wanted him to end up on a college squad because he has the knowledge for it.

Overall great guy and great coach. We still go eat food at his house and bullshite to this day.

no doubt
hmmmmmmmm

They could grab a damn good coach. Even though he might be shady, I wonder what Mac Barousse is up to.

In any instance, I would drive on up to West Monroe and offer a nice chunk of change to casey Sanders to move on down.....kill two birds with one stone

STM doesnt have to settle, they literally can find the best possible candidate and make him an excellent offer
