Rummel = 1644

quote:

Note since this is for a Classification purpose same sex schools like Jesuit must dbl the # so divide by 2 to get the actual number for school like that

So Rummel only has 800+ kids?? That doesn't sound right unless their enrollment is down.

Yeah, Sam Houston has been ducking and dodging 5A for quite a while now and nobody knows why. Hell, 5 years ago, I heard they were 5 students away from being a 5A school....yet, they never got bumped.

so lafayette high has the largest enrollment in Louisiana?

WOW! My graduation year, we were on the brink of dropping to AAA (Note: 5A did not exist in LA at the time)

Looks like about 1050 is the 5A / 4A cutoff point (Shaw, St. Aug, STM all fall right on that number). Of course, some teams will be moved up/down based on geographic balance and traditional districts.

Ugh... 2A in Baton Rouge isn't getting much easier. East Feliciana and D'Ville could go up but Redemptorist is definitely heading down, as their enrollment is nearly equal to Episcopal.

Does anyone know what the maximum enrollment would be for a 1A school?

It would be equal to about the 64th lowest enrollment in the state. It's hard to determine that without getting a copy of the PDF sorted by enrollment.

In 2008, the cutoff for 1A was Lake Arthur at 234.

For the other classes, it was Douglass at 423 for 2A, Carroll at 626 for 3A, and Parkway at 1058 for 4A.

I don't think Sam Houston can consistently keep up with Barbe and Sulphur and the likes, however they are doing it, they are making the right decision to sit tight in 4A

Damn...they must be stuffing students into Catholic High with a freaking shoe-horn! There's no damned way that campus can/should accomodate over 1000 students.
