Venus up next?

Schedule of play in case anyone is interested.

Wow, I didn't realize Australia is 15 hours ahead of us. I knew it was a lot, but not 15.

I love having a legitimate sober excuse to stay up until 3am

I was unemployed in 09 and stayed up until 6am watching the Nadal/Verdasco match live. One of the greatest sporting events I've seen.

I got sucked into some opening round match a few years ago. By the time it was over I was almost late for work.

I think watching Verdasco DF on match point was one of the biggest letdowns I've ever experienced in sports.

Davydenko should think about retiring. If this weren't a slam, you would think he fixed this one as well.

I love the Australian Open and how it starts the same time the new semester starts at LSU. It's become a tradition for me to stay up really late for the first week or so and watch Roddick play. Hopefully it'll be for a couple more weeks.

One of my travel goals is to see each of the grand slams.

I just realized watching Djokovic destroy this no names that he looks a lot like Jason Kapono.

Personally, I have a hard time watching Roddick play, regardless of the fact that he is an American. His game just isn't very entertaining to watch IMO. Same for Isner. Huge serve with not much of anything else just doesn't seem like tennis to me. I'd much rather watch Marty Fish or the Harrison teenager...players with well rounded all court games.

I really just don't understand all the love that Roddick, or the Williams sisters, always gets with the american fan. All three can be just total punks at times and their games amount to pretty much nothing more than a bunch of big whackers. I cringe when I see Roddick or Serena come to the net and try to use touch on their volleys. It's almost laughable to see these top 10 players look totally incompetent at times at the net.

Wasn't unemployed but still watched it, simply unreal. Fed/Safin was a close 2nd.

I think my all time favorite match was Agassi/James Blake at the USO in 2005. Nadal/Verdasco is definitely second though.

BTW I read that Strokes of Genius book a few months ago. Really good read. Thanks for the recommendation.

That is a worthy ambition.
