Sloane definitely outplayed her at the end of the 3rd set.

wow
What a great win for Sloane, she never threatened Serena a couple of weeks ago in Brisbane (sp?).
She had a solid showing at pretty much all GS last year, glad to see her break through.

I still think it's pretty unbelievable that Serena didnt threaten to cut a linesman out there

Serena was having another tantrum and crushed a racquet on court.

Then a linesman called a foot fault on her.

She took it in stride though

Ahhh, that it is surprising given her history.

I'm glad that witch is "dead" this tourney.

All those saying changing of the guard may need to hold off on that. If her back doesn't act up in addition to a bum ankle, she wins in straight sets. In this instance, Sloane definitely won the match because she was more fit, but I think, in a vacuum, Serena's talent level is still way ahead of Sloane.

I wish we had any type of young American prospect like this on on the men's side.

I didnt get to watch most of the match because of the Bama basketball game and heard Serena was hurt, but how did Sloane beat her? Finesse her to death? It blows my mind Serena couldn't just over power her

Serena couldn't get a first serve in after he back injury.

Serena won the first set 6-3, then was up a break in the second when her back went out.

Murray trashing Chardy.

He's dropped one set all year and he's yet to drop a set so far in the tourney.

Fed tops Tsonga in the first set 7-6
Second set are very quick service games 3-3 until Tsonga broke Federer 4-3, some unforced errors by Federer that service game.

Fed doing very well approaching the net, Tsonga better service games
Tsonga blasting some power shots on serve and forehand

Tsonga takes the 2nd set 6-4, just one break did it. Tsonga was unloading on his serve that set.

3rd set just like the 1st set Federer breaks Tsonga on his first service game, but Tsonga broke Federer right back. 2-2 in the set, some errors from both this set.

Federer beginning to rack up the unforced errors and missed shots. Still a back and forth match, Tsonga and Federer both have some dominant service games and both have chances to break the other. Just some miss hits here and there from both.

Yeah this Tsonga/Federer match is great.

6-7, 6-4, 5-6 right now

eta: Going to a tiebreak now.

Cool, I was hoping someone else was still awake watching and would chime in on here, because I'm probably not going to make it if this goes 5 sets

Fed with a very silly miss on an easy volley makes it 2-2 on the tiebreak. Could have easily taken command of the tiebreak there.

Surprisingly Federer hasn't hit many real nice winners this match, no amazing what was that kind of shots. In fact there have been more WOW moments from Tsonga.

Federer wins this 3rd set tiebreak with the same 7-4 score as the first.

Extremely close match thus far.

Yeah, that was surprising.

First one to crack mentally is the loser. Neither is dominant enough right now. The levels are fluctuating every other game it seems. One will have a love service game only to get broken the next service game.

The linesmen were hiding when the beast crashed her racket to bits on the ground. A little roid rage is good for everyone..
